Dumb idea.
I really wish we didn't have to constantly change everything

Nope. After 4 years, A&M plays UT for the first time this year. A&M won't play at Georgia until 2019, at home in 2024. A&M gets Kentucky in 2018 and plays there in 2025. That's ridiculous. LSU is in the same boat, of course, but you probably don't realize how screwed up this is because LSU has played all of the east teams many times over the years.
The roommate switch is a perfect solution, and nobody can tell me that if the SEC wanted to do this and keep a championship game that the NCAA wouldn't approve it.

ESPN college expert says SEC should ditch divisions...
I have ZERO problems with the SECCG going away. It has had several 2,3 conference loss teams in it and is predictable as the sun rising. Go away and play round robin. If u are good enough you'll survive the schedule.
Then please tell me how you're going to play a round robin schedule unless you make ALL conferences no more than 10-13 members (depending on if you want any non-conf. games).
So, we now have the P6 conferences?

If you got rid of divisions would you still play the same number of conference games? I have no idea how this stuff works
All depends on how things are set up.
If you have 3 perm./8 game conf. schedule, you could go through the entire conf. H/A in 4 years.
4 perm./8 conf. = 5 yrs. for H/A with 2 repeat
5 perm./8 conf. = 6 yrs. for H/A with 2 repeat
3 perm./9 conf. = 4 yrs. for H/A with 4 repeat
4 perm./9 conf. = 4 yrs. for H/A with 2 repeat
5 perm./9 conf. = 4 yrs. for H/A
BUT, you've got to figure out how to compare teams to see whom is better than whom since nobody shares a lot of teams on their schedule.

True or go to 16 teams with 4 pods & you can do the entire conference H/A in 6 yrs. (see everybody in 3).
This will also "shake up" on who gets to go to the SECCG if you pair the pods accordingly:
year 1 - Pods A/B winner vrs. Pods C/D winner
year 2 - Pods A/C winner vrs. Pods B/D winner
year 3 - Pods A/D winner vrs. Pods B/C winner
This eliminates the whining about the same teams always going to the title game because (depending on the pods) you have a chance to knock those teams out @ least every 3rd year (if not sooner).

What exactly is this. Did he major in Power 5 conferences or something?

Didn't the ACC reneg. on their attempt at doing this?

I guess you could have 8-9 conference games without divisions and the 2 teams with the best conference records play for the league title. But I doubt that's allowed under NCAA bylaws.

So I tried to work out 3 permanents and then you would have 5-6 rotating.
Alabama- AU/UT/MSU
Arkansas-LSU/TAMU/MSU
Auburn-UGA/UA/UF
Florida-UGA/UT/AU
Georgia-AU/UF/USC
Kentucky-USC/VU/MIZZ
LSU-ARK/OM/TAMU
Miss St-OM/UA/ARK
Missouri-TAMU/USC/UK
Ole Miss-MSU/LSU/VU
So Carolina-MIZZ/UK/UGA
Tennessee-UA/UF/VU
Texas AM-ARK/MIZZ/LSU
Vanderbilt-UT/UK/OM
Alabama- AU/UT/MSU
Arkansas-LSU/TAMU/MSU
Auburn-UGA/UA/UF
Florida-UGA/UT/AU
Georgia-AU/UF/USC
Kentucky-USC/VU/MIZZ
LSU-ARK/OM/TAMU
Miss St-OM/UA/ARK
Missouri-TAMU/USC/UK
Ole Miss-MSU/LSU/VU

Tennessee-UA/UF/VU
Texas AM-ARK/MIZZ/LSU
Vanderbilt-UT/UK/OM

Out of the 91 comparisons between teams on your list, here's what it sorted out to be:
0 teams shared = 55 (60.44%)
1 team shared = 32 (35.16%)
2 teams shared = 4 (4.4%)
Hince why divisions need to stay.

I like 4 perms so Bama keeps LSU on the schedule.

No such a thing as an ESPN "expert".

So 4 & 4
Alabama- AU/UT/MSU/LSU
Arkansas-LSU/TAMU/MSU/MIZZ
Auburn-UGA/UA/UF/OM
Florida-UGA/UT/AU/USC
Georgia-AU/UF/USC/VU
Kentucky-USC/VU/MIZZ/UK
LSU-ARK/OM/TAMU/UA
Miss St-OM/UA/ARK/TAMU
Missouri-TAMU/USC/UK/ARK
Ole Miss-MSU/LSU/VU/AU
So Carolina-MIZZ/UK/UGA/UF
Tennessee-UA/UF/VU/UK
Texas AM-ARK/MIZZ/LSU/MSU
Vanderbilt-UT/UK/OM/UGA
It's actually pretty balanced and hits all the traditional rivalries
Alabama- AU/UT/MSU/LSU

Agreed. The best two teams go to Atlanta. Period.

I would rather re-align
Mizz in the west and Au in the east
it only makes sense geography east and west
but this won't happen
