That way the best teams and rivalries would play each other more often. Well respected Edward Aschoff on Finebaum right now explaining.

I've felt this way for a while.

Been saying this for years...
Only problem is the current NCAA rules state that in order to have a Conference Championship Game, you must have two divisions with equal teams, and everyone inside each division must play during a season.
Until the NCAA changes this rule... or the SEC is ready to give up its SEC Title Game (which it won't)... this can't happen.

Ask the Big12 how that worked out for them in 2014

The one p5 conference with no divisions is currently the one that is on the brink of collapse and is commonly viewed as the very weakest of the p5 conferences.

Down voted for mentioning Finebaum.

I don't see need for divisions in any sport now.
Especially baseball.
For football though the permanent rivals still need to go.

According to who?The article was short sighted dribble that uses the last 8 years as a history refrence.
Seen much better writing and logic by some who post on here.

There isn't a single good reason to get rid of permanent rivalries like TSIO or AU-GA

I don't think Bama will allow it. So it won't happen.

Strangely aggressive, but okay. Just commenting on that general line of thinking. SEC is going well now but the conference should always be exploring ways to improve.
Keeping everything the same breeds complacency.

Drivel
It's drivel, not dribble.

The SEC was the first to introduce conference championships and now it's very difficult to get to the MNC without have a conference championship game.
Why would the SEC want to give up that advantage?
