So Tunsil was suspended for receiving illegal benefits. Screenshots of messages showing Tunsil asking for money from OM are put on the net. Messages show that OM had been giving his momma rent money. Attorney says messages were real and from his old phone, but a portion of retarded OM fans think he just misunderstood the question when he said he took money.

This is awesome.

There are mental gymnastics of Olympic proportions going on right now out of Oxford. It is funny to me that OM fans are hoping that these improper benefits relate to his suspension last fall. There are so many layers to that thought process.

It goes even further:

stars just happened to align for that '13 class
Treadwell's bff, Nkemdiche's brother, etc.
the NCAA won't find anything on us
there are only 5 violations in the NOA
those allegations are all pre-freeze and mostly WBB
Tunsil didn't understand the question
the screenshots are fake

Those are hilarious in their own right, but to have the audacity to come on to a message board and call other people ignorant is truly the coup de grace.

This all continues to look worse for ole miss, you have tunsil, suspended for half the season for impermissible benefits, apparently contacting with a shady financial advisor who is actually an agent runner, who at the very least gave him a phone (who believes a phone is all he gave tunsil?). Then tunsil plays in a number of games for ole miss. The validity of the texts appears to be confirmed, which means a few different things. Either ole miss was illegally paying for tunsils mother's bills on an ongoing basis, or the ncaa already knew and approved of such payments. If the first situation is true, ole miss os screwed. If the second situating is true, the ncaa is going to have alot of explaining as to how payment of such expenses could possibly be justified going on past history of enforcement

Wouldn't him "giving" the runner the phone be consent, basically?

no it wouldn't at all. by giving the guy the phone, Tunsil did not consent to him using his social media accounts.

I took a business law class years ago, and I remember the teacher saying "the law will only allow you to be so stupid".

How I read the article is that the "runner" gave Tunsil the phone in October and Tunsil gave the guy back the phone when he fired the runner.

Am I wrong?

Either way, Ole Miss and Tunsil would be wise to let this die as the runner giving Tunsil the phone is a clear violation in itself. Not sure if hiring a "financial adviser" would be considered a violation or not but that wouldn't look too good either, IMHO.

Something to keep an eye on...

Tunsil's younger brother signs with ole miss

"He caught 10 passes for 201 yards and a pair of touchdowns for Columbia High School in Lake City, Fla. last season, but had better numbers as a junior (23 catches, 264 yards, one TD). He was not rated by any of the major recruiting services, and his public Hudl profile indicates he runs a 4.60 40-yard dash."

will ole miss keep this kid on scholarship or will they cut ties after Tunsil outed them?

I'm sure they will kick him off out of spite over something he had nothing to do with. Because Freeze and Co. are pieces of shite.

It isn't a stupid question at all. The answer would cut right to the heart of whether or not there was a crime committed. If Tunsil gave him the phone and especially if he didn't have it secured or shared his access codes, there will not be any charges.

I don't know for certain, but I think you have to expressly give someone permission to frick with your social media accounts or it's still technically illegal.

Probably hard to prove he did anything, though. Especially if he destroys the phone before it falls into law enforcement hands.

My big take away from this is his hiring an agent or "runner" which might be a violation in and of itself.

I have yet to hear this question answered:

If you don't have the money to pay your rent or water bill, why do you need a financial or investment adviser?

The standard line is that he is going to be a first round pick and was getting his stuff in order. However, one of the services all agents of any credibility offer is financial advisory services. So, that is not a credible answer.

I said this before. If they knew the password and logged in like any normal person, it is not illegal as it is a matter of consent. Proving that you didn't give consent to someone who knows the password is damn near impossible. The only way you could make a case is if you had no prior meeting with the person who logged in to the account.

Now if a brute force program or Trojan was used, that is different. That would be considered tampering with the software which is against the law.

Attorney is an Ole Miss guy, so he might be inclined to provide his services at a reduced rate.

Not to mention the fact that other agents did their due diligence and outed this so called "financial adviser" as not being liscenced...which is apparently required by law and the NCAA.
