ESPN 30 for 30-Trojan War or Rebel Down?

Last night my wife and I watched the 30 for 30 program that outlined the reason for the USC Trojan's downfall. As we watched, my wife, who is a casual football fan, mentioned that the Trojan's problems sounds alot like the Rebels current situation. After the show, I tended to agree with her. Here are the similarities:
USC burst on to the scene in recruiting after 20+ years of mediocrity
Pete Carroll saw several of these recruits going in the 1st round
After 2 Natty's (Reb's haven't won shite), rumors on players being paid
NCAA begins investigation into the program
Investigation almost completed, learns Bush's mom & step-dad receives money.
Opens a new investigation in Bush's ordeal
NCAA starts looking at a possible "Show Cause" for Carroll
Carroll gets his own lawyer. (Sound familiar)
Carroll gets the hell out of dodge and goes to the Seahawks.
At this point, USC was ready to take the original NCAA penalty of 1 year post season Bowl ban, 6 loss of scholarships over 2 years and a maximum 82 scholarship players over two years. After the Bush findings, the NCAA had other plans for the Trojans.
The NCAA handed down loss of 30 scholarships over 3 years, a maximum of 75 scholarship players and a two postseason bowl ban. In addition, they vacated all wins in 2005 !!
The NCAA cited that if it wasn't for a disgruntled prior agent(sound familiar) for Bush, they would not have known about the money going to his mom & step dad.
Hey, maybe the NCAA has new blood on the committee and they won't be as harsh as the one less than 10 years ago. Maybe the Tunsil and Bush comparison is a stretch. However, I would think that getting money from OM coaches is a hell-of-a lot worse than getting it from an agent.
A key USC official summed it up at the end of the show when asked about the hammering from the NCAA, "When they spend all those years, time and money investigating us, you know the penalties are going to be severe"
How long have they been investigating OM and they aren't done yet?

Ole Miss has no Hollywood movie stars at practice.

So what you are saying is USCe got busted for paying recruits and players and you think that is similar to OM how? Nothing in the NOA suggests paying players or recruits. MSU paid a recruit and didnt get hit like this, so why would OM get hit for loaner cars?
Look I know the NCAA is your school's only hope for moderate success within the state again, but try to take your fear out of the equation.
And before you bring up OM coaches paid Tunsil $305, that has been explained away and there has never been any type of allegation against OM regarding paying players so any assumed is speculation. Like I can speculate that Simmons, Leo, and Peters received some sort of improper benefit from MSU, that doesnt mean it is either true, or more importantly provable.
Keep on living the good fight though, what else is there to cling hope to.

You're right, loaner cars aren't the most egregious thing in the NOA, it is just the most egregious as it pertains to the current staff an administration and total number of level 1 infractions, while the academic fraud is the worst thing in the NOA.

Trojan War is a pretty shitty documentary. It's more about the Texas-USC game than anything else.

Your 2 opening lines are a nice try, but...
Ole Miss lurked on the edge of the scene after 100+ years of irrelevance.
I can only find 2 OM players drafted in the first, and one of those put a bullet through your program's head.

His very first recruiting class had 3 first rounders. This coming draft has us projected for 3 more.

Oh Really, are you sure a that? It's no secret that while at UCLA, Ross Bjork was envious of USC's cultivation of Hollywood stars to their games. That's why you see Danika Patrick, Woody Harrelson and Katy Perry at game day.
Prior to the investigation, Ross made the comment he wanted to see Ole Miss become the USC of the South.
It looks like he is Well on his way.
