We always talk about most yards and touchdowns in a game, but what about epic defensive games with monster stats?

I'll go with Florida DE Alex Brown (1999 vs Tennessee) sacked QB Tee Martin 5 times. What a game.

Wasn't the match before the rematch between Bama and LSU like 3-0?

ETA: Looked it up. 9-6

2011 LSU vs Bama was one of the best defensive games I've ever seen. For both sides. LSU just recruited better at place kicker lol.

98 Al Wilson had a similarly epic game vs UF as Brown did the next year. I don't remember exactly, but it was something like 15 tackles, 3 sacks and 3 forced fumbles that he had.

9-6 was the best defensive slug fest I have ever seen.

Much respect to LSU

The GOATs:

-The 2010 Auburn fan defense of Cam: "YOU HAVE NO PROOF!"

-The 2014 LSU fan defense of Chavis leaving: "He is the reason this team wasn't winning titles!"

-The 2016 Ole Miss fan defense of Freeze: "I would rather we cheat then suck forever!"

Kevin Minter against Florida in 2012 was incredible. 20 tackles, 3 TFL, 2 sacks, and a forced fumble.

Damn beat me to it haha.

Didn't he miss half of the 4th quarter too?

I think I remember him having to come out and UF started to move the ball on ground. Kwon broke his ankle that game too. We were starting a freshman Lamar Louis towards the end

I remember he came out of the came for a bit because of pure exhaustion. He was pretty severely dehydrated at one point. He was an animal. Our offense was just terrible that game and the defense was on the field nonstop.

LSU has been in a few that were memorable; a 3-0 loss to #1 Notre Dame in 1970 at South Bend. 3-0 loss to #1 Alabama in'79. A 6-6 tie with #1 Nebraska in '76. The 10-7 victory over Notre Dame in South Bend back in '85 was a bruiser. The 7-6 loss at Auburn in '04 and 7-3 loss there in '06 were slobber-knockers, though most remember some horrible officiating in both. None were more hard-fought than 9-6 over 'Bama at Tuscaloosa in '11.

Would the IB game in which Croyle was sacked a dozen times count as an epic defensive performance or an epically inept offensive performance?
