I went to the game and I live here in FL. I'm sick of hearing how the LSU band played over your church hymn in the Swamp. Even today I am hearing it! Get over it!! As far as the Danny Weurffless award and Tom Petty tributes: Couldn't this have been done at half or pregame? I love Tom Petty, but the timing and choice of songs seemed a bit contrived. "Wont back down" late in a game where you have trailed, seems a bit self serving to fire up the crowd. Why not "Southern Accents" about his roots, as this seems more appropriate for a hometown "tribute". Yes I love Petty, but this outrage is way overdone! Oh and if you put the lyrics on the big screen...why not have them synched to the song itself?
Also...If the whole stadium is going to chant "Ed-die, Ed-die, Ed-die..." every time your kicker is on the field, don't get pissy and want to fight when LSU fans chant this after he loses the game for you. It's fair game...you basically gave us a switch to beat your arse with.

I wonder how you would feel if Tannersaw band played Rocky Top repeatedly during not just one, but every homecoming anthem and tribute at LSU? This was an entirely unnecessary insult - by band geeks at that - that added nothing of value and just caused hundreds of thousands of people to be disqusted with LSU. It was just plain unnecessarily disrespectful. The entire conference noticed it. No one thinks that little stunt was cute.

I also live in florida. I saw the announcement for this tribute at least the day before the game, maybe 2. Not sure why you are so surprised at the timing or song choice.

We would never schedule homecoming with a hated (and favored) SEC rival. That's on UF for doing that after last year's fiasco and winning the CWS. Backfired!
