A lawsuit accuses former Auburn University football coach Pat Dye of causing a vehicle crash and refusing to let the other driver leave afterward.

The suit filed in Macon County on Thursday says Dye collided with a vehicle driven by Jimmie Lee McCoy Sr., who was injured. The suit claims Dye and another man then took McCoy to Dye's home and wouldn't let him leave.

The suit contends Dye was intoxicated at the time of the crash on July 6.

Dye denies being intoxicated or falsely imprisoning the man. He told al.com he fell asleep while driving.

The lawsuit seeks an unspecified amount of money from Dye; a man identified as helping Dye after the wreck, Lynn Huggins; and an insurance company.

It will not be hard to convince a jury that Pat Dye could have been inebriated.

Police reportedly didn't even perform a sobriety test. Can you say cover-up?
It's the Auburn* Way. Probably even in the Creed.
