I think Drew Lock and Will Grier will battle along with Kyle Allen as the top QBs in the conference over the next couple of years, he definitely has top shelf talent and will dominate a lot of teams.

But, how can he possibly handle UFs Dime/Nickle D that is top 5 in the country in Sacks while only rushing 4?

Even if he has a small amount of time he has to deal with 3 of the best corners in the country in VH3, Tabor, and Wilson.

How do you Missouri fans think he will bold up?

We can ask you the same question

Could be a repeat of this weekend....short quick routes

I think he'll do fine BUT we need to get enough production from our RBs to keep your LBs honest

I think Lackey should be the game 1 starter.

No you can't, our QB has already faced tough defenses and handled it well, this is Lock's first test

Against USC Lock's passing yards per attempt was 4.9 with the long being 28 yards to the RB.

They will dink and dunk as they normally do to avoid getting Lock killed IMO.

They rushed for more yards than they passed. That won't happen against UF.

OM rushed for 68 yards I believe. They'll have to pass deep to win I think. I like those odds.

You haven't faced our D and I'm betting we're better than OM

Seriously man. Like, they played against an FCS that's terrible.

Arkansas State (who they won by seven).

Connecticut, who they won by three.

Kentucky -- who got three touchdowns on them when they couldn't get one on Florida.

And a horrible SC team.

The major difference is that we've played an elite offense.

They still haven't run into a mediocre one other than Kentucky who beat them and moved it pretty easily the entire game.

22-27, 249 YDS, 2 TD - Towles vs. Missouri.

8-24, 126 YDS, 2 INT -- Towles vs. Florida.

Lock will probably get a bunch of safe throws. He'll have a decent percentage and probably won't make many mistakes but it's going to be hard for Missouri to drive the field on us.

But Lock is probably the least of their problems offensively. If they can't run the ball at all, they're going to be in trouble.

Just a side note: OM can't run the ball!

Not sure if you were trying to give yourself kudos for holding a team to 68 yards that can't rush the ball...

Running QBs kill us. Not RBs so far. We've been fairly consistent there.

Dude it was his FIRST START EVER and on short notice. What part of that are you not understanding? Pinkel didn't even open the playbook up for the kid. He stated that publicly after the game.

You might be right on rushing yards and blah blah blah, but an intelligent person would think that Mizzou will be opening up the playbook a bit more for the kid week by week. If that is the case then UF has no idea what could happen with Lock.

True. We didn't run much in the second half against Ole Miss. We'll be opening up more of the playbook too.

Oh and not sure why you are triggered. Most of that was stats. Did you disagree with anything? Did I say you "opened up the playbook"?

You guys are wound tight like Northerners. I did not disparage your new hero.

I've been saying that. Thankfully Mauk is sitting out on this one, because it could be his saving grace game where he comes from the ashes and beats the frick out of us with his legs.

RBs have done next to nothing all year, and the way Kentucky handled Mizzou's rushing attack gives me confidence we can as well.

Their RB got 50 yards against Kentucky, and Mauk got 49.

I know man. You guys are too good. No reason to even play the game.

You have me convinced. Well done

Didn't mean to come off as terse, just making the point that WE don't even really know what we have with Lock. He has rarely put the ball deeper than 15 yards down the field.

It does appear that he stays in the pocket (a couple times too long- freshman mistakes) and that he has better mobility than we thought. Basically just saying it might be pretty difficult for Florida to prepare for something they don't have on film.

I'm not saying you can't win, just that you shouldn't be supremely confident in your freshman quarterback or your 'stout' defense until you play someone.

Key Victories: Connecticut and South Carolina.

Vs: Kentucky, Tennessee and Ole Miss.

Teams Connecticut has beaten: Villanova and Army.

They beat those teams by a whopping five points each.

South Carolina has beaten: UCF (winless, even against FCS competition) and North Carolina.

Teams Kentucky has beaten: Mizzou and South Carolina.

Teams Ole Miss has beaten: Alabama.

Really -- just look at who we've had to play vs. who you've had to play. Doesn't mean you guys can't win, but it's amazing that you guys tout the "Top defense" when you've played no one.

Except Kentucky.

Who beat you.

This might be the best Florida pass defense ever-- its a bit early to go all in (remember 08 shutdown the greatest offense of all time in the title game) but man having a great pass rush to go along with our almost always stellar secondary, well to paraphrase Mac "Its pretty cool, right?"
