The UK contingent kept full jumbo in check this week.
And congrats to Coach Pinkel on the induction.

Missouri’s Gary Pinkel was expected to be at his Mid-American Conference Hall of Fame induction last night in Cleveland, but complications with a plane left him stuck at the SEC Spring Meetings in Sandestin. He tried several last-minute flights with nearby charter companies to no avail.
Insert John Calipari and Mark Stoops.
The two Kentucky coaches offered Pinkel a ride on their jet, so Pinkel could make it to the event he was dying to attend. He accepted, and took the jet on to Cleveland and then home to Missouri after dropping Calipari and Stoops in Lexington.
And congrats to Coach Pinkel on the induction.

Did he ever win a conference title in the MAC? Because I know he hasn't done it at Mizzou

they were too preoccupied with their college baseball team to notice

Pretty sure he had an undefeated season at Toledo and kicked Penn State's arse while he was there too.

Interesting. Didn't realize that had continued post mortem.

Son has continued what daddy started. The other jet they use often is a big fan of UK WBB.

DRUNK
quote:
Smith pulled him over and immediately recognized Pinkel when he approached the vehicle. Smith noted Pinkel’s eyes were bloodshot and watery. Pinkel appeared confused when questioned initially and said he had not been drinking. After Smith said he could smell alcohol on his breath, Pinkel said he had two glasses of wine during dinner with friends.
From there, Deputy Robert Paul took over the questioning. Pinkel told him he had consumed two glasses of red wine between 8 and 9:30 p.m. He later told Paul the glasses were “jumbo” sized.
Pinkel declined a field sobriety test because of an Achilles’ tendon injury and agreed to do other tests that would not require walking. Paul noted Pinkel was swaying during a series of eye tests. Pinkel told Paul he has a prescription for the sleep medication Ambien but did not indicate whether he had taken any.
Asked to say the alphabet from E to R, Pinkel struggled to recite all the letters. Asked to count backward from 73 to 62, Pinkel declined and said, “You kidding me? I can’t do that normally.”
Several times during the tests, Pinkel told Paul he was “very nervous.”
Paul asked Pinkel to take a preliminary breath test and he declined. At that point, Paul told Pinkel he was placing him under arrest for DWI, putting the 59-year-old coach in handcuffs and into the back of his patrol car.

I'd go full jumbo if I was coaching in the Big 12 too.
God bless the SEC for saving Gary Pinkel. Who knows what would've happened if he had to deal with those tsips any longer.

Truly enough to make anyone drink.
Grats to Pinkel on the induction and for the UK coaches helping him get there for the event.

I was talking about being fellow border states in-between the North and South, but yes we also share a border

We'll always have our mutual hate of the Jayhawks.

I love hearing them bitch and complain about Kentucky...y'all have no idea how much they despise the Wildcats

Their envy is so much fun. I think the series is 21-6 now and shows just how far behind UK they are. I thank them for Rupp but they also gave us Dean Smith which more that offset the love.
