Didn't Kentucky go 11-0 in 1950 or something? Or was one of those a tie.

All I know is that Tulane hasn't been in the SEC since 1965, and they've got more SEC Championships than Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, South Carolina, and Arkansas.
And only 3 fewer outright SEC championships than Auburn.

They won their first 10 games of the season and then lost to Tennessee. They went on to beat Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl.

Shouldn't both of these schools be ranked #3?
Also, win streaks that occurred before SEC membership shouldn't count...let's face it, Big 8 and SWC schedules were much easier that SEC schedules.

That is terrible logic for South Carolina and Arkansas. Tulane was in the conference for 34 years, while SC and Arkansas have only been in the conference for 24 years.

Spoiler alert: Sewanee lost all 36 of its SEC games they participated in while a member of the conference.

Already been posted, but I'll repeat it. Unless you're planning on winning the conference 30% of the time over the next 10 seasons, I don't think the logic is so bad. And the whole point was that Tulane hasn't even been in the conference to be competing against for number of championships. Their number isn't going to change. You people have been competing against ghosts, and still can't catch up.

Why did Tulane leave the SEC anyway?
Sewanee left because they realized they just couldn't compete and the league was too much the big leagues for them.
Ga Tech left because Bobby Dodd was super butt hurt about Bear Bryant.
But what about Tulane?

^ Basically for the same reason, although the administration claimed they wanted "more scheduling flexibility" or something to that effect. Tulane was really good for a while but started going downhill as a program. They decided to deemphasize athletics and focus on academics. There were also rumors of a "Southern Ivy League" that Tulane was interested in joining.
Me personally, I see it as water under the bridge. It wasn't a great decision to leave the nation's strongest conference, but Tulane would have certainly struggled to compete

If that actually is right, that means that if (when) UT wins their first 3 games this year, they will have tied Mizzou's longest ever win streak (had 6 in a row to end last year.) If we can find a way to beat UF, we'll pass it.
