Because if the LSU fans wanna admit it or not, he was squarely on the hot seat before the Alabama game in 2010....

Just wondering...

LOL no way. He just led them to a 13-1 season and beat the eventual champions at their place. Still an incredible accomplishment.

Nice thread.

If they shite can Les, then UK better hurry up and snatch him for $5 million/year.

13-1 I don't think so. Heck won the SEC West and SEC.

Interesting considering LSU maybe in the hunt for the BCS next year.

I think Les is just fine!

You can't spell Les Miles without... well I guess we can't use that one anymore.

I've taken him off the hot seat. We got a bunch to look forward to next season and I'm good with him and his staff.

Not sure if Kragthorpe will have to make any changes in his position for health reasons. But, Miles isn't back on the hot seat.

No. I think some Mack Brown comparisons might start being thrown out there if he doesn't win it all next year though. Not that that's a really bad thing.

Les Miles isn't on any hot seat, and realistically last year he wasn't either.

But LSU fans will largely feel very uncomfortable with him. What he did last night just reminded me of how you can't really trust the guy. For me he erased all the positive imagery he earned since the bama game last year.

No, of course not. Because of the beatdown last night certainly a lot of people are upset and there'll be a sector that's not pleased with what's going on at the top.

But 13-1, SEC title and the one loss in the BCS title game is a pretty good season.

He isn't close to being there yet. I just think some people will start to question his ability to win the big one again if he doesn't next year considering how stacked their roster is going to be. Whether its a fair criticism is a completely different topic.

My thoughts on Les:

1. He isn't on the hot seat, nor should he be.
2. I have never bought into Les as a great HC, but his results have made it hard to hold that as a reasonable position.
3. LSU will be in the NC picture again next year and Les will be fine.
4. Les has been good enough, long enough that expectations from a certain percentage of the LSU fan base have grown unreasonable.

unfortunately no. they have just as good a chance next year. if he blows that one then he'll definently be on the hot seat. i think LSU fans need to get real good and acquainted with georgia fans. so we can come to terms as to what its like having a coach that just does enough to not get fired for how many years a in a row now? 3?

Miles is on the hot seat for about a week, and then saner heads will prevail.
