Finebaum stated that this actually could help with some of the sanctions Ole Miss could receive, including not getting another bowl ban.

I do not see it that way, especially that this is separate from the NCAA violations. I see this ending up as a Arkansas situation mixed with the USC penalties.

Ole Miss will still hire a good coach, but will take some time.

How could it help? He didn't voluntarily resign. He wasn't pushed out by higher ups doing the right thing. He got caught in something there was no coming back from and said "frick it, u got me"

It would help in the fact that OM is not standing by Freeze any longer and can claim the house has been cleaned. Ole Miss had dug in their heels on defending Freeze up to this point.

No it doesn't help.

It took Nutt's attorney putting their arse to the fire just to get them to look at their football head coaches phone records.

This doesn't look good. His phone records should have been examined long ago when all this shite started.

If you have been following the story, the NCAA really wanted Freeze more than they wanted Ole Miss.

Bjork is still there. He's just as guilty as Freeze.

Help? Maybe the opposite. It brings in a lack of character type issue in addition to what is looking like a poor image for the staff.

Cheating, Hookers all we need now are visiting logs containing the name "Carl Pelini".

It falls under lack of institutional control when a year and a half later you just now decide to look at phone records of the guy the investigation is centered around.

To me, this makes it worse and makes the Ole Miss administration look like cover up artists or just lip service dogs.

Have you been following? Because you've been wrong every step of the way.

No, I've known about this story since last week. This still has nothing to do with the NCAA investigation.

Not yet.

But Nutt is in the process of subpoenaing all of Freeze's phone calls since 2012. Want to bet that there aren't more hookers turning up in the hometowns of recruits?

They stood by Freeze the whole time. It's not the NCAAs fault that Freeze just so happened to be banging hookers too. It's not like Ole Miss had a moment of clarity. The NCAA should still come down just as hard. If Freeze wasn't banging hookers, they still would have a head coach despite the sanctions.

ESPN analysts are basically saying that he is now separated from the program and they have self imposed bans, and that could be enough.

I don't see it, more is coming

Help?

It's the tip of the iceberg of a bunch more level 1 violations.

NCAA really has no choice but to reopen investigation.

Ole Miss now has to defend a coach in their allegation response that they've forced out for calling hookers. This is separate from the NCAA case... unless they find out hookers were provided to recruits.

I'm sure the NCAA is going to drop the additional charges and take the OM penalties for however many level one violations though. Exemplary cooperation. Definitely has not lost institutional control

I expect to get a 2 year bowl ban. I think if we had fired freeze originally, they would have let us off. At the end of the day tho nobody really knows what all they found out. As they are currently being sued for misleading statements, I would hope they would not say on national tv that it is separate from the NCAA stuff if recruits or anything like that was involved, but they have screwed up many times so not sure I trust that. Part of me would like to know how bad the stuff they found out really is. At best he was hiring escorts, but could be even worse than that. Freeze deserves to be publicly humiliated for all of this and I don't necessarily believe his wife was completely in the dark. But I do feel terrible for his daughters. My alma mater will suffer penalties in football and life will go on, but those poor girls are going to have to hear from everybody about what a scumbag their dad is what a fake human being he is. That would be tough to handle as an adult, let alone as a teenager. For their sake, I guess I hope nothing more comes out of this.
