They're still playing baseball. Literally right now.

To be fair, it was supposed to end last night. Does it seem like the tournament lasts too long? Maybe it's just me. Maybe I'm salty that we didn't make it.

Just wondering what other college baseball fans think

No. And I mean I really don't see a way it could be any shorter.

You can thank the Northern Schools for how late the season is now.

I think it's about right the way it is.

As soon as LSU was eliminated I stopped caring. At least Coastal has proven to be a decent team

Yeah, not with the current format. I suppose I'm just being critical.

Maybe not too long, but how late into summer. Like another poster said, thanks northerners. With your seasons.

Only reason I'm watching is because Coastal is a school from SC and used to part of USC. Rooting for them.

ETA: And frick Zona.

I definitely agree it kind of feels like it's lingering out too long, but I can't see how we can start the season any earlier. I mean most years we are playing in less than 50 degree temps on opening day.

The CWS has been ruined by

a. the bats
b. that stadium the size of the mothership on Spaceballs

In the past, I'd watch even when LSU wasn't involved. Since the move with both the bats and stadium, it's like watching paint dry.

I want scoring in CBB. Doesn't need to be gorilla ball, but I go MLB when I want to see some pitching

The season started the third week of Feburary.. That's as early as it needs to be.

It's hard to watch the CWS anymore since TDA opened. Wind blows in and the park is huge. Homeruns anywhere else just fall without even getting close.

If I'm a player I guess I'd be caught up in the CWS... But schools get out in mid -Mayish. That's a big chunk of your summer gone.

It does seem more drawn out this year. Of course, the Hogs weren't in it at all, so maybe that's just me

I personally hate the new stadium. It has completely ruined the event.

I also hate Omaha, that place sucks major dick. There is nothing there to do except go to the games, so I would prefer the games and stadium experience be enjoyable

Mark me down for moving the CWS

Yeah no doubt about that. Can't stand it.

I like it, the later it goes, the shorter the dead period, before football.

I agree with that. I'm starting to think my discontent is coming from the no offense ballpark more than anything else. If it's fun to watch, I probably wouldn't care as much. It just seems drawn out now, and it's probably because the game drags out. I'm all for a pitcher's duel, but when homerun hits don't even pose a threat it's hard to watch.

Compared to little league travel ball seasons, the college baseball season seems short to me.

I can agree with that.

I wish the Olympics would be July instead of August. Help with the dead time.

The only way to shorten it would be to change format. Single elimination would put a premium on having a good ace though.
