IMO, the whole situation creates a negative image for the SEC. It is like having the one bad kid in a group of friends that makes the whole group look bad. It really pisses me off that my Alma Mater is associated with this situation. I know you can't control people's actions, but the university has to be accountable for the players they recruit. The NFL judges character as a scaling mark for draft status. College universities should do the same. If they take a chance and miss, then let the hammer fall and fall hard. This whole thing is absolutely ridiculous. If LSU participates in the same offenses, let the hammer fall in us as well and on everyone involved in the least bit. Winning programs are not a substitute for credibility.

If the situation is as advertised,Auburn's president should:

1. Dismiss without severence any official university employee involved in ANY way with the scandal.

2. Forbid EVERYONE involved (boosters, employees, etc.) the right to purchase tickets or attend any official Auburn University event (sports or otherwise) for life.

3. Reorganize my own compliance office because apparently they are TERRIBLE at their job.

Cam situation makes the SEC LOOK REAL BAD! SEC knew about this in JAN and just sat on their hands.

no....it appears daddy "rented the mule". If true and they knew, they sold their collective soul....consequences for a bad decision.

If LSU did likewise, then I am all for whatever the consequence.

Yes. Last night at work some guy said he wasn't surprised about this at all, that the SEC is the best conference in football because they are the dirtiest. I hate being perceived this way. People hate us because we're the best, but it's things like this that give them a legit reason.

bullshite. A bad apple or two means we have a bad apple or two. People who want to then paint every team/organization connected by conference alliance are just weak-minded and unable to deal with the fact that the conference is tough. Is the PAC10 a dirty conference because of USC?

Newton and Auburn are going down. It's a certainty at this point. But I can assure you, they won't go down alone. Whoever is responsable for the leaks (MSU, UF, Tenn.....etc), Auburn will surely drag them down too.
It's gonna be a blood bath in the end.

It is BS, but that's how he and a lot of others perceive the SEC. There's nothing we can really do about that. When your on top people look for reasons to hate you (mostly stemming from jealousy), but I still don't like them getting this type of fuel for their argument.

Im an LSU fan....not an SEC fan. I couldn't care less about the so-called "image" of the SEC. If Auburn f'd up than let them fry.

makes the rest of the SEC look bad but Im not upset.

They have cheated and it will cost them. I just don't want these things going on for the school I root for but none of this is a shock

If it wasn't this, the envy would drive them to find something else for the argument. I just ignore it and smile.

I continued listening to ESPN Dallas after the Kenny Rogers interview yesterday. They were giving the SEC the business over there, talking about how corrupt the "good ole' SEC is" and how "you don't expect anything less from the SEC"...

You didn't hear anyone make those comments about the PAC 10 when USC went down for major violations, but hell, we earned the rep.

The one thing no body is talking about is the other AU players. What is going to be their reaction if all of this is true.

A bunch of 18-22 year olds that just want to play football. I'm sure they would have taken a few losses this season, rather than deal with this mess, and possbily a tainted season.

Have we really earned it? I'd really like to see a list of minor/major violations over the last 10-15 years (probably a pretty large list). Does a large percentage belong to the SEC?
