So this year, people are mostly writing off the Gators, which is understandable after a coaching transition, especially one coming after a disastrous head coach like Muschamp, but some people are high on Tennessee this year, because they return so many starters.

So the obvious question for UT fans I think, has to be, is this finally the year UT beats Florida and actually legitimately joins the SEC division race discussion?

Honestly, UT should have done it last year, but some horrible coaching decisions down the stretch really doomed UT.

Can Butch finally get out of his own way and lead UT to victory this year?

My magic 8-ball says "cannot predict now." Mostly because I have no idea what the UF offense is going to look like. Thoughts?

Last 10 years scores just for fun:

10/4/2014---Florida (7-6)----@----Tennessee (7-6)---W--- 10- 9
9/21/2013---Florida (4-8))---vs----Tennessee (5-7)---W--- 31- 17

I won't pick us to beat Florida, until we actually beat Florida.

It's not a Jones thing it's a Tennessee thing. Florida worked some bad juju and we can't find our own witch doctor to override that shite.

Honestly, when i look at the two rosters and compare them I think this should be a very winnable game for Tennessee. Florida's secondary is sick and I expect your defense to be very good as usual. The big question about UF is offense and I don't think anyone will have any real idea about that until the season starts.

I think the two defenses are comparable but UT's offense, on paper, should be miles above Florida's imo.

Then I remember to myself that no matter who is coaching or playing on either side, Tennessee will always find a way to shite the bed against Florida in the most ridiculous way possible.

My heart says VOLS by two TD's but my brain says Dobbs, Hurd, Kamara, Sutton, Barnett and Maggitt all get uncontrollable diarrhea in the middle of the 4th quarter, causing VOLS to blow a big lead and lose by 1.

Yes we're going to win.

Otherwise I will self-immolate.

I thought UF only played 12 games in 2014 counting the bowl?

Is 7-5 not the correct record?

Yup. This year will be the first year in maybe a decade or more that we should have equal or near equal talent on the field. Even so we'll young and thin at spots and it's Florida. I don't know that it extends to the teams or how much it ultimately matters, our instate players know and the rest know by the way Florida week is handled, but there's a huge mental block in the way that's as crucial as anything on the field for most fans. Players know how big it is to win this game and that only adds pressure which can effect play. How much is anyone's guess but I think it's more than just a little bit.

Hopefully, we'll get lucky this year and not frick it up.

They better..... No reason why Tennessee shouldn't destroy Florida this year.
