Pretty sure it was in Miles contract (and most coaches contract FWIW) to be paid more than the highest paid coach in the conference if you win a national title.

I am pretty sure if LSU ever paid Les more than Saban was making in a given year it was 2 LSU Chancellors and 1 AD ago.
