Can there up tempo system lead the Ducks to a NC, or will they continue to come up small in big moments?

They're several years away from being natl title contenders. I love it though. Phil Knight keeps throwing money at the program like no other& they still can't win the big thing.

There's only so many chances you get... What bama has done is unprecedented and they needed several different variables to make it every year... That's why I melted so hard when AU lost last year.. Because when you get there you have to win... I don't see them winning..

it seems any team worth a shite (which would be any team in an NC game) would have enough time to prepare and be healthy given the month down time. they might make it back, but I dont see them winning it. their offense isnt that amazing asnled to believe, just different and difficult on a few days prep time. give me a month, I could slow them down

This is dumb, they will always be in consideration imo. Yeah they lose Mariota but they have been in the running without him too. A few things fall their way and they win a championship.

If I had to put % chance in the next 5 years, I'd say 25%

Uh, they just lost in the title game after beating the defending champs to get there. Do you know what the word "contender" means?

Ever is a long time. I really thought that was the best Oregon team I have ever seen. I also thought they would beat tOSU by two TD's, minimum. They just don't have the physicality on the DL to compete against the better teams in the nation. Until they build depth there, I don't think they will win one.

With the playoff structured the way it is, I have a hard time seeing them winning it going forward. This was their best shot

This was their senior laden team with Heisman winning veteran QB in a while. and they couldn't beat tOSU which was a good team, but not great compared to other BCS champions.

not with helfrich there. Had chip kelly been coaching last night this game is a tossup. Helfrich and frost's play calling all year has been average.

i actually think the 2010 oregon team was outmanned by auburn(yet managed to keep the game close) more than ohio state outclassed oregon. Oregon had lots of opportunities last night(dropped passes, allowing 3rd and long conversions, gift turnovers, red zone opportunities) yet they literally made zero plays besides the long TD. The game could have played out completely different had oregon come up with one third down play, either on offense or defense, in the first quarter.

Not until they can get line play at the highest level. The funny thing about kicking Oregon's arse that OSU fans can now appreciate is that they usually do most of the work for you. Their O-line will wear themselves out by trying to play fast against an elite D-line. They did it against LSU in 2011 and OSU last night. They are a very good team, no doubt, but against more physical teams, they will lose.

There's literally not a scenario where Oregon beats ohio state last night. The buck eyes gave them 4 turnovers... It was one of the most lopsided title games I've seen. ND/Bama. Nebraska/Florida lopsided.

Do you think theyll win the PAC12 & play for the national title next year? Excuse me for giving my opinion. Next time I'll ask for your permission first.

Not as long as they're soft in the middle.

If you have a tough O-Line and a tough RB you can steam roll them with ease.

This. They lost by 22 points being gifted 4 turnovers, 3 of them completely unforced.

They're lucky they didn't lose by 40-50 points, and Urban would have done it had he had the chance to do so.
