Does Miles coach again, or become "Elder Statesman" like R.C.

When A&M fired Slocum, he probably had a few prospects to go somewhere a few steps down, but elected to stick around and quietly be a "coach emeritus". He decided his heart would always be in Aggieland, and we were proud of his image (if not his coaching, at the end).

What I read about Miles sounds similar. Sounds like he loves the place, and is deeply invested. May not ever get a high profile gig, and may not want one.

What says LSU? Does he have this kind of position there?

Saban will hire him as a consultant the week before the LSU game and announce it the day after he blows them out by 40 and the threads here will be sick as hell.

Beyond that, no idea.

He's already done it once this year and Miles and Saban are good friends. It's happening.

Is that really necessary?

Miles had to go yet he accomplished more in 12 years than A&M has in 100+. Apples and Oranges.

If I was him I'd try to go to Auburn if Gus gets fired.

Sadly the coaching carousel didn't fall right for him to end up at Florida.

The combo of salty sweet tears from LSU fans having to deal w/the coach they bitched out of town and the permanent rival they bitch isn't fair to play would be quite delicious.

Of course it isn't but some people just like to laugh at trashy arse coon asses and saban is definitely one of those people.

Lee Corso is 81. ESPN will groom him to be Corso's successor on Gameday.

Don't kid yourself, there's a big name program going to scoop him up, imo. I wouldn't be surprised if a USCw or Notre Dame didn't contact him soon.

I would be stunned if this happened. Maybe just to pad out their candidate list while they focus on their real target.

Les can't put together a single coherent sentence. Why would anyone want to listen to that trainwreck more than once?

Les Miles may do a seasonal TV analyst gig here and there but he's pretty much headed to retirement and I believe that he will be staying in Baton Rouge.

He told his team this afternoon that he will always be a Tiger and told them go run the table for him. He'll definitely be involved in the program someway in a token manner.

Dale Brown, a great LSU basketball coach and Shaq's coach still lives in Baton Rouge. Miles should follow in his footsteps.

No.

It's either TV analyst gigs and/or retirement for him. The man is in his mid 60s and there have been some rumors about health problems including some neuro deficiencies going on. He's been coaching like he isn't having fun anymore and just burnt out.

He's not fit to be starting all over again at a new school much less a major division one program.

Probably takes some time and a sweet gig at ESPN that lets him watch his kids play in college
