Usually at a minimum you give a coach three years to turn things around but I'm having doubts that LSU will be that patient.

If after 2 years he has zero SEC wins he is fired

All depends on situation.

He will only be there until a better alternative comes along.

well we're already paying miles a fortune through his buyout, and right now O's is 12 million. O has at least two years to prove himself.

Hope not.

His buyout apparently goes down a good bit on 1/1/19.

If there is no improvement after 2 years then expect his seat to be red hot.

well well...this means that LSU will join Ole Miss in its descent to the bottom of the SEC. ~misery loves company~

No.

That was the worst-coached football defense I have seen play for LSU in a very long time. I suppose it's possible that Orgeron will turn it around, but that game had so many stunningly bad signs on being mis-positioned on defense that I don't think it's possible. (On offense, I just give MSU credit for being a good defense taking advantage of LSU's less experienced O-line, along with some ill-timed drops and penalties.)

All that being said, I still back the firing of Miles 100%, and I am okay with the decision of giving Orgeron a chance given the circumstances. The LSU AD is comically inept, and got the program in a bad position in terms of finding the right timing to hire an ideal next coach. But taking the larger perspective, I like the fact that we are already embarked on the path of churning through coaches until we find a good one to keep.

We won't have sanctions. You win that title.
Enjoy that title. It's the only one Ole Miss will win for a while.

Things will have to get comically bad for O to be out after 3 years or so. But, I tell you depending on who ends up at Texas A&M, Arkansas and possibly Auburn will play a factor.

I disagree with you there, because Orgeron was not some solid blue chip hire that the program is fully invested in. He's just an interim guy given a shot at being permanent because it's a feel-good story. That means he has much less room for error than a major blue-chip hire would have.

He needs to have winning conference records to survive. I don't think 4-4 seasons will cut it in terms of getting him to the 3-year mark.

A LSU coach that gets blown out by MSU of all teams while the team looks like they don't GAF is instantly on the hot seat. I don't care if the refs ****ed us we quit.

They didn't. LSU was sloppy and that comes from the top down.

And that's exactly what it was - right out of the gate. With the BS call for offensive PI. Took the wind right out of their sails. And it all snowballed from there.

- The offense couldn't move the ball - save one drive.
- Guice held to something like 75 yds on 15 carries.
- Dropped passes
- The defense couldn't stop them and was sucking wind - which surprises me.
- Targeting and losing 2 players when we were down in positions already. I still feel one of those penalties was BS.
- Penalties...penalties....penalties. I don't think I've ever watched an LSU football team that was that undisciplined in a game before.

The script was flipped...they looked like BYU & UTC looked against us.

I say we give him this year - he gets a short leash. This is a program that, on NFL opening day, had the most starters from any one program. (maybe tied with Bama).

If you want to attract the top talent you have to keep those numbers up and better have a staff that's going to get these kids where they want to be.

LSU self imposed sanctions when they hired Ed Orgeron...we will both come off probation at around the same time, and we will both be looking up at SNITCH U in the standings. let that sink in. I am.
