Hear me out:

A. LSU gave Henry the biggest Heisman boost I've ever seen a player get by virtue of being completely destroyed at the line of scrimmage by Bama.

B. LSU is responsible for taking LF away from Bama, who (lets be frank) would be getting a minimum of half of the carries for the Tide, if not the majority.

Ok commence with the downvotes

Does Henry owe his Heisman entirely to LSU?

I think you have entirely no idea what this word means.

Sounds to me like the Offensive Line deserves some of the credit.

And you know what? Henry agrees. Derrick Henry takes entire Offensive Line out to dinner to thank them

I don't understand what I need to do to give them more credit than

I don't have enough money to take them all out to dinner, too.

I get what you're trying to say and in part you're not off base; Henry was barely in the conversation until that game.

But that was due in large part to how Fournette was dominating the conversation. I would say Henry owes more to the Alabama run defense for shutting down LF7 and striking him from the conversation- or at least toning it down.

You have to actually give them the credit for kicking arse, not the ones who got their arse kicked

This.

Also, quite a few Heisman winners lately have been due to how they played either for/against Bama.

Ingram
Cam
Johnny Football
Henry

I think Tebow was the last SEC Heisman winner who didn't have a big game against Bama that cemented the Heisman for him.

Interestingly enough, Ingram laid an egg against Auburn but since he had a big game in the SECCG and Bama stayed unbeaten it was soon forgotten by the media.

Really? You're the one who thinks the loser of a fight is "owed" something because he lost to the winner. Or you can't tell the difference.
