Does Grier's suspension really change much?

If Florida wins, it was never gonna be because Grier lit up LSU. It was gonna be because they contained Fournette, forced some turnovers on passing downs, didnt turn it over themselves and won a low scoring affair.
Treon Harris is good enough that he took a QB competition with Grier into the second week of the season and he played ok last year. He plays the same style as Grier and I doubt LSU's game plan on defense really changes. I just dont think this really changes the game or its outcome. If LSU wins and Harris didnt turn it over a bunch or miss wide open throws I think the outcome would be the same.

I don't think it changes much. I still think LSU wins in a dog fight.

LSU is going to win no matter what now.

I think Florida would be more concerned if a starting D-lineman or LB were in Griers' shoes.

There's your problem. Treon has a noodle arm and floats a lot of passes, and the play calls have been the opposite. Lots of timing/intermediate routs that Grier threw to perfection. Treon can't do that, that is a goddam fact.

it doesn't change much at all.
treon throws a better deep ball and is a little better as a runner.

Key words in bold above. Grier made not turning the ball over and eating some clock on offense with sustained drives much more likely. UF can still win the game but losing the QB that seems to be the difference between new UF and old UF is a big blow.

I don't think so. Grier doesn't play defense.....

LSU is also benefitted by getting 2 to 3 starters back. Jalen Mills (their best DB), Bower (starting DE), and possibly Dillon (330 pound blocking TE - also starter).

If you watched our game then yeah it matters for at least one team.

If Syracuse and Eastern Michigan can score in the 20's I don't see why Florida can't get into the 30's.
If Florida plays solid D and has no turnovers it will be an extremely close game.

It helps LSU in the first game against Florida, by December it might not matter all that much.

Rich - Did Harris bang your GF? Chill the frick out on the harris hate, jesus. Plenty of other fanbases can handle that just fine.
