Notice one thing. Auburn folks are not the ones talking shite about AU being great. We'd prefer to just lay low, win our games and move on to next week.

I think AU has great potential. However, its a weekly deal in the SEC. frick the media. They know NOTHING.

Until proven different, even friggin Arkansas could win the SEC.

Replacing NR-2 star guys with 4 stars. Hevesey is yet to field a sub par OL, I have no reason to expect that this year with vastly improved talent.

I thought State fans said stars didn't matter? Just because they were low ranked out of HS doesn't mean they weren't good, especially at OL. The first OL drafted this year and #5 overall pick was a 2 star out of HS.

How long did those low ranked guys start? Experience is probably more important for lineman than any other position in football besides maybe QB. For example Auburn's 2010 OL is considered one of the best units in recent SEC but there was one NFL backup on the whole line. They were good because of experience. Even the highest ranked OL always have struggle as new starters.

The only one we lost, that signed with and NFL team, was only a one year starter. We lost 3 OL last season as well, people said the same things last offseason and we seemed to have managed.

You will have to just wait and see how it plays out, but I'm serious when I say we didn't lose anything near as much as people seem to think. Offense will be straight up improved, the defense is what most State fans are waiting to see on.

Maybe. I think LSU and Bama can make a case as well in the west and Georgia in the east.

I think Auburn is the favorite mostly because who else would you pick? Every other top SEC team has big time questions at QB while Jeremy Johnson is expected to be very good. You already know GUS will put out a good product on offense, and this is probably the most talented he's had yet. Good QB with a great arm. Most talented stable of RBs he's had. Arguably the best WR in the SEC and maybe the country. Talented and export ended O Line. On defense everybody knows Auburn has struggled in recent memory, but this should far and away be our most talent s defense since Tuberville was the HC and we have a proven DC in Will Muschamp that's produced nothing but solid defenses as a DC in his career.
So when you shite the bed THIS year, what will your excuse be?

No, the addition of Muschamp will finally prove once and for all that it's impossible for HUNH spread teams to field good defenses. I'ma laugh when he has an aneurysm from watching his tired arse defense get drug up and down the field, specifically by Dan Enos and the wonder due of Jonathan Williams and Alex Collins

Auburn is middle of pact in plays run. We were more physical in practice. We will surprise. Watch out for TAMU

So, this is what I'm seeing from the fanbases about Auburn:

Alabama: Yep, they'll be tough and it's probably not a bad thing that they are picked to win the West.
Auburn: Yep, we're cautiously optimistic about our chances because we have a proven offense and some hope with our new DC.
LSU: Auburn will be as good as anyone this year, why not pick them?
MSU: WHAT ABOUT DAK????
ARKY: OMG! WTF!! What the hell do we have to do to get some respect around here? Auburn sucks! Can't you all see this? Look at me. Look at me.
OLE MISS/TAMU: Yeah, we pretty much suck.

I've seen no one say they suck.

2 posts above yours is conflicting on this.

I've seen none of them say they're going to suck.

In conclusion, you're very stupid.

Why so defensive? You guys are the Rodney Dangerfield of the SEC right now.

Do you think I'm interested in your respect? If so, you're way off base. I'm quite fine with the little preseason 'love' we've been given.

I was simply replying to a stupid comment.

Nothing upsets me more than a team being a preseason favorite when they don't deserve it. You have to EARN the offseason title.

After the season, if any organization ranks you #1 even if they have no credibility, THEN you can claim it.

Learn how it's done. You newbies are exhausting.

They're the most intriguing team this offseason in the league that's for sure.

New QB who Auburn fans are drooling over, along with a proven DC.

Depending on how Gus and Will play it, it could work or it could blow up in their faces. If Will is truly left alone to run the D, no reason they won't be at least marginally better this year. If Gus gets involved, it could cause a massive ego battle.

I still don't think Auburn will have a good defense yet but it will be much improved. As long as it's average or a little better they should easily be the favorite. They won't have to be that great given the offenses they will face early and by the time they get to Georgia and Bama they will be improved. No need to worry about offense.

LOL. We were middle of the pack, nationally, in plays per second last year.

This won't be an issue for Gus. He left the D alone for Ellis come hell or high water. He doesn't like to mettle. He learned the downside of that from Chizik.

DAMN. That's fast.

How many plays were you able to run per second?
