Before this last expansion we would play 3 teams from the East every season. We always play Florida but I miss some of the other games that we played. Who knows how long it will be until we play Georgia again because the last time we played they won. I'm just wondering if they will bring the 3Rd game back.

yes. The SEC can't hold off 9 sec game schedules for much longer though.

I do. The expansion obviously helped monetarily, as adding new teams always does, but it hurt the conference from an actual on-field perspective. We desperately need to go to a 9 conference game schedule and eliminate the late season cupcakes.

I loved it. AU and Ole Miss every season, plus another west team rotating home/home as well.

Those were the days!

I do. Wish we would just go to 16 and have the 4 pod system. By doing that and playing 9 conference games we would get a whole lot of good games and better games on the SECN

If we would go to a 9 game schedule like we should, then it would come back

9 conference games is definitely best, all the other major conferences are going to 9 and 9 would promote much healthier cross divisional play.

Of course Saban was for 9 games so all the haters came out against it even though they knew deep down it was best.

And then you have all the SEC bottom feeders worried about getting to 6 wins to make a bowl.

It will be TWELEVE years before Bama makes a return trip to Athens, let that sink in how crazy and stupid that is.

We need to ditch the 2 divisions.

If we expanded, what teams do we take? Considering the ACC isn't breaking up anytime soon, what good teams are out there? I personally think we should consider ECU. Although they are small, I think the SEC's money and brand will make them the premiere football school in NC, hell they aren't that far from it now. The problem I see is we don't have another team to add.

I'd rather just go back to a 12 team SEC.

Your good bud NS wants it and did not get the support from most of the other SEC head ball corches.

Na, the divisional thing is great, all the conferences have copied it, that's how good it is.

But all the other conferences also went (or are going to) 9 games.

Agree with ditching divisions. If we do not go to 9 conf games, kill the divisions like basketball did. Every team can keep 2-4 perms and rotate the rest.

I enjoy the Divisional games we play. It wouldn't seem natural to not play teams from the West, but I would like to play Georgia more often, and I miss Kentucky even though we played them last season

My ideal schedule

9 conf games
1 big ticket OOC game (at home when you have 4 home conf games, on the road when you have 5 home conf games
2 mid major teams from the AAC or MWC or something

Nope. The Aggies annually is better than rotating through one extra East team every 12 years or so.
