USC would have to approve of Clemson getting an invite. The one advantage that USC has over Clemson is that they are in the SEC and Clemson is not.

You're telling me if Clemson had lost that game in a similar fashion with superior talent you wouldn't be sour? Bc not only would it be a huge loss to the Cocks, it would have knocked you out of playoff contention as well.

You definitely would still be salty.

clemson would never lose to SC with their current teams so this is a weird hypothetical

personally i wouldn't make a big deal out being blown out in one game, given your talent level. when Clemson was blown out by FSU at home 3 years ago, to me that was more disappointing and embarrassing because the team was so stacked on offense.

Are you claiming that y'all are not a bunch of sheep humpers and that your University's biggest supporter was not a racist? Or are you claiming there is no Tillman Bell Tower?

quote:

The Tillman bells, cherished by students and alumni alike, are the soundtrack to the Clemson experience. Since 1892, a typical day for a Clemson student has been marked not only by classes and student activities, but also by the prominent sound of Tillman’s carillon resonating across the campus.

We cannot allow this type of blatant racism in the SEC ... I'm sorry but no, Clemson will never be offered a spot in the SEC if the conference were to expand again.

Now, you're welcome to stick around here in the SECr as a hanger-on or whatever, but now that your taterhead friends and you understand the futility of your reality would it not be better if you hung-out over at the ACCr?

And I just wanna say Tillman, you personally ... you would make a good SEC fan. It's unfortunate that you hitched your wagon to the wrong program as a child. Just remember, it's never too late to get with the right program. Choose one. We've got a thirteen awesome SEC programs to choose from - all of us here in the deep south, loving life, smokin' hot babes.

Quit torturing yourself Tillman.

Can't base it on a few wins or losses but the overall picture of this will go a long way in determining how good Dabo is at coaching.

Clemson has everything it needs to be successful in the ACC..No need to leave....The real question is are the any SEC teams that would want to join the ACC?..

LSU and Alabama killed the SEC as we know it when they played for a second time and accelerated the end of the BCS and brought about the Playoff....

The BCS was heavily stacked to favor SEC teams...Now that we have a playoff, the emphasis of going back to individual teams is much more of an emphasis rather than what conference you are in.

The SEC Killed The SEC as we know it to a degree....

Clemson is just fine in the ACC and will not be leaving.

Clemson would kill to join the SEC. That is not an option.

NC State has a rabid football fan following. NC State is located in the RTP which is one of the fastest growing areas in the country. NC State is very competitive in basketball, baseball and many other Olympic sports ... far moreso than Mizzou for that matter. Geographically and TV revenue-wise NC State makes a helluva lot more sense than Mizzou ever did. NC State has great facilities as well. And NC State is a very decent road trip, plus their fans travel well.

NC State has always made the most sense to me. A program who is considered on the outside looking in of the Duke/UNC rivalry and they love their football. Would bring pretty good academics and good (not great) athletics. Not only that, I would expect that NCSU would jump at the chance. The issue is the ACC's buyout that was put in place several years back. I think it's around $50 million if a school wants to leave the conference for another.

i nevre meant to imply that Clemson needs to leave the ACC.

just trying to gauge if SEC would have an interest in Clemson.

i think realistically the only p5 teams that the SEC could possibily both offer and get are FSU, Clemson, Oklahoma.

they only kill fraternity pledges and then avoid investigating it as a school, protecting the guilty while trying to save a fabricated image.

the school didn't avoid investigating it. police did investigate it.

CU isn't responsible for students murdering another student.

The ACC Just Extended the Grant of Right through 2035-2036...

The conference's grant of rights makes it financially untenable for a school to leave, guaranteeing in the 20 years of the deal that a school's media rights, including revenue, for all home games would remain with the ACC regardless of the school's affiliation.

So this is a moot discussion for 20 years...

As I said, the ACC is more likely to add an SEC team like Kentucky or South Carolina that would benefit more from being the the ACC...Unless you want to be a money whore like Maryland.

posting the pic of the Tillman building underscores why it is my screenname. it is a nice looking building. it undermiens your attempt to make my screenname out as a nod to a dead racist. i have said numerous times that i have no problem with the CU trustees changing the name of it but i'm not a racist for referring to the building by what it is called.

I think, much like A&M, Clemson would be a good fit in the SEC. However, I doubt it ever happens. A&M brought Texas into the footprint and that was a big deal. S. Carolina is already represented and I think they would push back pretty hard on Clemson being admitted.

NC State or Va Tech are more likely even though they are less of a SEC fit. Precedent is already set to allow teams in that don't fit...see Missouri as exhibit A. That decision still puzzles me.

nc state and va tech aren't going to leave their NC and va brothers to go to sec. this seems obvious.

Clemson, FSU, G Tech (less likely) are the mostly likely ones SEC could lure.
