Do you get any college football preview magazines? If so, which ones?

I used to get the Athlon ones back in the day (still have the 01 one that predicted a Florida/Texas Rose Bowl). Is Blue Ribbon still around?

Athlon (National), Athlon (SEC), Phil Steele
I feel that it is good to have multiple opinions.

Lindy's. Got it ever year since the 08 season.

I will get Phil Steele and I think it's great. But it's super hard on my eyes so I actually barely looked at it last year.
And I will get a Lindsey's or Athalon. I think this year I went with Lindsey's. Honestly not sure how these rank reputation wise.

Phil Steele is garbage. Athlon is where it's at.

I used to buy them all. Internet changed that...

Before the internet was full of groupie whore team journalists and "beat guys" I bought every magazine I could find every summer. Lindys, Athlon, Steele, whatever I could find.

Always. I normally only pick up a Lindy's, but this year I'm thinking of getting a copy of all three of the major ones (Lindy's, Athlon, Steele)

I used to get them all now I usually just read the internet

Always bought the SEC Athlon magazine going back to 1981. Started buying every Athlon annual(Big 10, Big 12, etc,) in 2004 and stopped in 2009. I think Athlon's quality has went way down the last 10 or so years. Used to buy Lindy's in the late 80's and 90's, but I haven't bought one in 20 years. I have bought Phil Steele since 2010. I just like all his stats, depth charts, etc. I don't buy them for predictions because I can do that about as well as any of them.

Lindys, athlon, and Steele. If for no other reason than 1. It's fun to look back 10 years later at how different things were (I still have issues where Ken Darby from bama was on the cover) and 2. It's just a nice feeling of nostalgia to flip through the pages and devour all the info therein and to bitch about how they undervalue aspects of your team. It's like a little piece of pre-internet life coming back. Go mow the grass one summer afternoon and then kick back with a preseason football magazine while baseball plays on the radio in the background. Nothing better

quote:No need. I read tRant for all of my football news. But, back a long, long time ago (pre-internet) I always looked forward to Athlon's coming out. But it was never correct in their predictions and such and kind of bent things to what the reader wanted to read. It's almost as though they had as many iterations as there were colleges.

Used to in late 90s and 2000s. Probably stopped getting em in 2007.

Been buying them since the 80s. Used to buy multiple every year. Nfl ones too. Now I just get one college one. Either Lindys or Athlon. No preference. Just depends on which one the store has. I got lindys this year.

I used to buy an Athlon every year in the 90s then stopped as the internet grew. Now Im getting more into Phil Steele, more for collection purposes these days.
