Do you Arkansas fans feel like your team is making progress in football?

I don't care if it's Germans or not but I just saw an article about Bret Bielema saying Arkansas won't win a championship until they beat Alabama. That being said, Bret has taken Alabama down to the wire a couple of times and even pulled off a miracle against Pastor Freeze last year. Where does your confidence stand in this year and down the road?
Arkansas and Tennessee are really the two teams that we have the worst chances against IMO. Don't know about you other Bama fans but I was nervous as hell till very late in both games
So let's hear it piggies. Would 10-2 be a good season? Does it have to be better than that say...an SEC championship?
Bret Bielema looks back on previous Alabama games and his thoughts on line depth.

10 wins next year would be amazing considering what we lost
To answer your general question about our team, you can clearly see that there has been progress. I understand many will say that you will always see progress when you have 0 wins in the sec your first year but it was progress nonetheless. Bert is going to get a little bit of a pass this upcoming year because of what we lost but if we win less than 9 in 2017, there is a good chance he is gone or on a very hot seat. 7-8 wins is fine when you realize how bad of a spot we were in after John L Smith but he won't last much longer off of that.

It's funny, when he was first hired people said he wouldn't succeed because he's running the same style as Alabama and LSU with less talent. Those two teams are actually the ones we've had our better games against (except 2013 Alabama). Our defense is built to stop a pro style rushing attack and did very well against both Henry and Fournette. On the other hand, we've struggled against up tempo spread teams with mobile QBs.
We're definitely making progress...the talent on the roster this year even after losing a ton is a much better than where it was in 2013. 10-2 would be great but I'm expecting anywhere from 6-9 wins. Eventually Bielema will have to win more than that or the fans will start to get restless though.

Short answer: yes
Long Answer: It takes time to completely change how the team philosophy works. We've also been working on upgrading assistants and developing the program depth that we have lacked for more than 2 decades. In the past, when we've been really good, we had some players that were just amazing. The hardest part for our team has been our lack of quality line play. Our offensive line has not been as good as we expected it to be. They struggled in run blocking, particularly in the SEC. It will be interesting to see how the new line coach does.

I'll tell you right now our defense is gonna be nassssty this year. I'm holding my breath on the young Allen. If he play's like I think he will and our running backs show out. LOOK THE frick OUT!

CBB has the program on solid footing now. This will be a fun team and have talent every where. We will be green at QB,OL,RB. But talent at those spots, people will have to step up for us to win 7/9 games.
I like what CBB is doing!

We'll never be a program that's at the top year after year but we do expect to make a run at Atlanta at least every five years. If we can keep a frickin coach for a while, fml

Our offense is going to live and die with the passing game this year due to depth concerns at RB, and that's not optimal with a new QB. However, big time play makers like Reed, Cornelius, Morgan, and Sprinkle can make up for a lot of inconsistent QB play.

If Sosa makes an immediate impact at DE with Deatrich already on the other side, frick me! Paul Rhodes coming in and that veteran linebacker unit.......

The assumption was that you'd have a hard time competing for the same players as the Alabama/LSU systems, not beating those teams head to head.

We are beating LSU on the field and are doing pretty good recruiting Louisiana. There seems to be an emphasis put on recruiting there now since the players better fit our system.
Texas used to be our primary target, but they play the dog and pony show football there and the players have to be taught football. But running backs and receivers are good gets...
