Do SEC offenses need to evolve?

Watching this game, I can't help but think Saban was smart to change before it was too late. SEC teams win by just having way more talent than the opposition most of the time. The West is the best football division ever and half the teams can't complete a forward pass with anything on the line. What gives? Has the SEC become stagnant and too concerned with following the traditional Bama/LSU formula?
