I'm asking this because I personally do not think he is that great of a coach. Yes, he won a national championship (With Jameis Winston). And while I was glad they won at the time, looking back at it FSU didn't win it.. Auburn lost it. But what has Jimbo done since that 2013 year?

- Got blown out by Oregon in 2014 Rose Bowl Semi-final

- Got hammered by Houston in the Peach Bowl in 2015

-Got blown out by Louisville 63-20 (Yes the same Louisville team that just got blown out by Houston 12 hours ago)

As an Alabama fan, I would love to continue the 6 game winning streak against LSWho.. And hiring Jimbo would insure that the streak stayed intact.

What do you LSU fans think?

Name a coach who wins a championship that wasn't due to great players.

He's 75-17 overall and knows how to develop players and run an offense, something Miles never did.

He's 75-17 as a head coach after taking over a Florida St team that hadn't been relevant since 2003. Since then he's won his division 4 times, 3 conference titles, 1 NC, and is 4-2 in bowl games. What he's done in rebuilding that program in only 6 years is very impressive, and to say otherwise is plain ignorance.

Maybe but he seems like the least likely guy since Texas could be a big player this offseason.

Our fans are a bunch of whimsical crybabies who just need someone to be mad at. They have no idea on who they actually want.

I think the patently obvious answer to your question is:

Some of them do, while some don't.

Why is it so hard for people to understand that any large population of people is going to have diverse opinions?

Dameyune Craig - Only QB in Auburn history to pass for 3,000+ yards in a season.
Rohan Davey - Only QB in LSU history to pass for over 3,000+ yards in a season. Most passing yards in any game, most completions in any game
Matt Mauck - Most completions and passing TDs in a season in LSU history. Won a National Championship
Jamarcus Russel - #1 overall pick, tied most passing TDs in a season
Matt Flynn - Won a National Championship
Christian Ponder - 1st round pick
EJ Manuel - 1st round pick
Jameis Winston #1 overall pick
Jake Coker (who couldn't beat out Winston and then went to Bama and played one year and won a NC).

His QB coaching alone makes him a yes. Then you add in that since he's been head coach, he's one of 3 coaches not named Saban to win a NC. He has the 2nd most top 10 finishes, only to Saban. Yeah, the guy is a really good coach. He's going to finish this year and still have a better head coaching resume than Jim Harbaugh. His college coaching resume is 3rd only to Nick Saban and Urban Meyer.

I guess we'd take him....

Some people don't recognize how good Jimbo is at halftime adjustments. That Auburn game wasn't a fluke. It is what he is great at. If you've watched any amount of FSU games other than 1, you would see this. His teams come out in the 2nd half and, generally speaking, take advantage of weakness after weakness.

Jimbo Fisher would be as close to a homerun hire as LSU could get.

I haven't kept up with this but why would Jimbo leave FSU for LSU? To be in the SEC? Ties to LA (other than coaching previously at LSU)? Can LSU pay more?

Jimbo doesn't really wow me as a hire, but he also doesn't disappoint me. I would actually be pretty excited to having Jimbo assuming he retains Aranda.

Given who Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, and South Carolina have recently hired, I'll take Jimbo every day of the week.

LSU pays assistants more than anyone else(FSU not paying assistants well) , Jimbo having personal issues in Tallahassee , LSU will pay Jimbo more than FSU, Has LSU ties and familiarity, friends at LSU
