Do LSU fans consider Les Miles the best coach in history of their program?

This does not take into consideration the accolades Nick Saban has now. Only his 5 or so years at the Bayou.

Skip Bertman.

Charlie Mac is a close second to me but, admittedly I have a biased opinion as he was a great friend to my grandfather and family.

As far as a coach that best represents our university off the field, you can't knock Miles.

Even on Father's Day, LSU is still in your head.

I say yes because besides his record on the field, he's genuinely a great guy and has a lot of respect from players and coaches off the field.

Given the run of success he has had there I'd have to say Les Miles is the best football coach LSU has had. When only winning 9 games is enough for the administration to consider shite canning you then your success level is off the charts.

Plus he seems like a really good guy.

Saban wasn't the coach here that he is now, that's well known I thought anyway

Bernie Moore had some success here when no one put anything into the program, Dietzel obviously had a effect on not only LSU but CFB in general and Cholly Mac was the coach for me as a child.

But yeah I'd say Les Miles is the best coach in our football history. not many avg 10 wins a year, especially at LSU

I would have to say due to the overall record that Miles is the best football coach LSU has ever had.

Yeah, I think so.

You can't apply what Saban has done at Alabama to his time at LSU.

ETA: if we're talking all athletics and not just football, it's Skip far and away. He took an unknown LSU baseball program, brought it a championship, and built a dynasty. Plenty of people postulate that Saban could have done it for football, but Skip actually did do it for baseball.

If you want to say Saban is the best football coach that has ever coached at LSU, that's accurate.

Miles is the best LSU coach in my lifetime.

I think it is fair to say that Miles will end up being the most successful LSU football coach. Saban was probably the best.
