1. Bama - #1 until proven otherwise
2. Ole Miss - Chad Kelly is a grade A playmaker and singlehandedly will allow Ole Miss to compete against anyone.
3. LSU - Great rushing attack and good defense. Don't believe Harris has what it takes to lead them to a championship though.
4. Arkansas - Returns a lot on defense and added new secondary coach Paul Rhodes which should be an upgrade. Austin Allen is a new starter but he's a redshirt junior and is more seasoned than your typical new starter. Team's potential hinges on the offensive line that lost 3 starters. Undervalued amount of playmakers on offense.
5. A&M - Offense should be explosive and defense ok.
6. AU - I thought Sean White was playing great there for a moment last season. Too many questions about QB and defense to project them finishing in the top half of the division.
7. MSU - Losing Dak is going to hurt in a lot of ways. Will still be a decent team and finishing last in the West isn't necessarily indicative of a bad team.
1. Tennessee - Really like their rushing attack when you include their QB. If Dobbs polished up his passing abilities over the off season then they should win the East fairly easily. If not, I still like them to take it.
2. Georgia - Team will be rejuvinated with a new coach and new QB. Physical defense, great running game, and good QB play will result in a 9 win or so season.
3. Florida - Defending East champs should be given some preseason respect until proven otherwise.
4. Mizzou - Solid defense. QB play will need to take a big step forward if they don't want another losing season.
5. Vandy - Mason seems to be turning the corner slowly but surely.
6. Kentucky - Put up or shutup time for Mark Stoops.
7. South Carolina - Muschamp needs some time to get his defense installed and hopefully figures out a way create a successful offense.

3rd is respect? Where would no respect have landed us?

Respect in the sense you shouldn't write them off as a SEC East contender yet. Still think UT and UGA are more likely to win the East, but Florida isn't that far behind.

Alabama will probably win the SEC and miss the playoffs. They'll have at least two losses this year, but one of them will be out of conference.
Sucks for the entire SEC...so thanks, Bama.

Solid work! The injury variable will change things before the end of season, and off the field issues could impact Ole Miss (which could flip Ole Miss and LSU), but that's one of the best preseason predictions I've seen. Nice work, sir.

Since CKS hasn't coached a game yet, I can understand your apprehension. IMO, the top 3 in the East really is a toss up between UT, UGA, and UF. He had to put them in an order, and in this case, UF is in 3rd. FWIW, they could just as easily be first. That's why they play the games.
ETA: never mind, I see there was already a response.

Swap Ole Miss and LSU in the west. Also swap Vandy and USCe.

Given A&M's success vs arky, I can't pick arky over A&M. Interesting you can, however.
All around, nice write-up.

You can make a case for A&M to finish in the top half of the West. Arkansas did finish with a better conference record than A&M last season though.

I like the picks, even though I'd switch LSU and Ole Miss. I just really like LSU at home and a revenge game after being humiliated.
With LSU hosting Bama and Ole Miss, I really like LSU's chances of winning the west. However, you can't not pick Alabama at this point for obvious reasons

I think LSU and Bama are top two in the west. Beyond that, it's wide open and anyone's best guess.

We may very well lose two games, but none will be out of conference. I wouldn't be surprised at all if we went 1-2 against LSU, UT, and Ole Miss.

LaTech and TCU are no pushovers. I wouldn't want to play at MIZZOU in November either. It's going to be a tough season for Arkansas.
