No it is not real. Opponents were held under their avg 3rd down % in 73% of your losses.

Just because you keep repeating it doesn't mean it's true.

I don't think we've been melting, just beginning to realize that getting LSU's washed up sloppy seconds will have little effect on our mediocre defense (given that our talent sucks cock compared to LSU's. And Tennessee's in the late 90's.

Ok, I'll tell you what UT fans told us.

You'll see soon enough. He is an upgrade, but you better pray you are not in a close game with under 2 minutes to go as well as 3rd and Chavis. His rushing 3 in those situations, with his DB's lined 10 yards off the WR will drive you insane.

Please keep relying on your useless stat. Watch the games, and get back to us.

The great secret among LSU fans on this board is that there were many of them, including some posting on this thread, who have numerous posts refuting and arguing against "3rd and Chavis" over the years. As late as the start of 2014, the myth of 3rd and Chavis was often hotly contested (and rightfully so).

This fact has been intentionally suppressed and conveniently forgotten. Posted links to old threads have been deleted on more than one occassion.

They don't what that means Robert Goulet...yet.

And as memphisplaya noted, it's not just the personnel, it's how far off the ball they play.

Were you dispelling the myth while he was coaching at LSU?

I didn't think so. He's so much better now that he is at A&M, right??

At least the Mustang defense is a defense. Better than what we had last year.

Bama 2012
- they march down the field to win the game

Clemson 2012
- they march down the field to win the game
- including converting 4th and 16

Georgia 2013
-they march down the field to win the game

Ole Miss 2013
-they march down the field to win the game
- allowed Bo Wallace to run for a first down on 3rd and 10

Bama 2014
- they march down the field to win the game

Notre dame 2014
- they march down the field to win the game

There was countless other times where the defense made a stop and the offense ran out the clock, but 6 times in 3 years is crazy. I'm sure im missing some too.

Penn State 2009

Arkansas 2010

We're both shite shows

It's ok brother. Our defensive talent is a pile of horse shite compared to LSU's and that's ok.

Everyone knows this to be true.

I'm sure it is an upgrade. I am not quite as critical as some on here about Chavis...Tennessee owes a lot to his defenses. However, the Mustang package is real, and it will make you want to punch an infant.

If nothing else, LSU and UT are reverse eskimo bros in knowing what it feels like to get fricked in critical situations with a defense that looked like the '85 Bears for the majority of the game.

Arkansas 2010 was also a disaster for Chavis

Clemson 2012 - Your QB has an 11.0 QBR. Yes that is an 11.

Ole Miss 2013 - Your QB throws 3 interceptions in one half of football.

Alabama 2014 - Your QB has an 11.8 QBR. Yes that is an 11.8.

Did you want Chavis to also coach the quarterback position?

I would love to be Eskimo bros too just to see a few quarters of a modern elite defensive wearing a tamu jersey. We would never blame Chavis, we would blame a bad call that prevented a touchdown earlier in the game.

Oh really? Looks like Arkansas was 3 for 13 on 3rd down. Chavis holds Arkansas under their season averages in both 3rd down % and points. Wonder what is was then?
