The first year it was done in this format, the 93/94 athletic season when it was won by UNC.

We came within 17 points of beating them back in 2012/13, but with so many more sports it takes a down year from Stanford and a really great year from UF.

I pay it no attention. They count shite not all schools have like Rowing and Mens soccer and beach volley ball and fencing etc. We don't have gymnastics or diving etc.

Right but you can still measure gains as a program. Mississippi State has been on a nice upward trajectory in this thing, back in 2012 finished 80th and now sits in the top 50. That's a pretty good jump with fewer sports to score.

It's hard to believe UK is ahead of TAMU. We've come a long, long way since I was a student. It was downright embarrassing to attend any of our minor sports events then.

But, how? I would have settled with 80th.

Florida is the only school that has never finished outside the top 10, and that includes Stanford, which participates in 38 sports. The average SEC school participates in 22 (I think that is the number).

Congrats to the Gators. Solid finish.

I wish they would compile a ranking of schools based on only their performance in the major sports in everyone competes. Pretty sure it would be dominated by the SEC, based on these rankings alone.

So A&M still finished behind Texas in a down year in Austin.

Most universities will give their first born to finish 7 but I guess they will still say that UTx athletic department is horrible

Which sports do you consider major? It is a little more difficult for the women.

In the history of this SEC forum, you've posted twice - both of which were about the Texas Aggies.

Son, it's time for you to let Daddy go.
