get to play in the opener if he signed?

It ended up working out last night but he seems to be playing with fire by creating an unnecessary QB controversy.

Sumlin has a fetish for undersized running backs posing as QBs.

Probably told him they weren't going to redshirt him and he would be getting playing time. Doubt the plan was to get him in the first half of this game but Sumlin did say afterwards that they had planned on playing him against ASU.

Timing was odd... 2 minutes before half in a close game against a good opponent.

No but he told him that the best players see the field.

That's always been Sumlin's thing. If a fish is more capable than a senior, the fish will play

No he thought using a mobile QB would push back their blitz every play. And, Kyker is an absolute beast in the two minute drill.

Sumlin has said exactly what he meant. We're going to play both QBs for awhile. It's Kyle's job to lose, but he has to perform for the first 3rd of the season to keep the job.

Could be.
Or it may just be that we end up being a two QB team this year.
No one knows at this point.

The offense was struggling when Kyler came in. He gave a spark and Kyle came back and played better than before.

Kyle Allen was like 8/19 88 yards if I remember correctly when Kyler came in. He was trying to spark the offense and light a fire under Allen. I mean their lead RB was averaging less than 4 yards a carry and and the passing game was bad too and it's not like he said Murray wouldn't play.

I like Kyle Allen and I always thought people were crazy for thinking Murray would be able to take his job, but this lil dude will be real good later on in the year if he's still playing.
