Did Saban troll LSU in 2014 with Harris?

I know that we only signed Cornwell that year, but I seem to remember Bama had some interest in Harris, although I don't think we offered. Maybe TS or another of the recruit geeks remember the circumstances.

I do recall the unbridled glee from LSU posters when his LOI came through. Yeah, no links, but I swear there was unbridled glee.

Think about what you just said.

Now next time, think about it before you post so we don't also have to suffer through your shitty logic

We still think he can be a great QB. He's had flashes of greatness

But he just can't put it together. Coaches aren't helping him either

Too much was expected from these kids by the fans, because the fans got "trolled" by recruiting sites that wanted to up their subscription base by giving these fans what they wanted. Harris was a mid 3* with a big arm and lots of potential and Cornwell was a low 4* who wasn't even playing HS football because of transfer issues. They both got bumps when Bama and LSU started showing interest.

Gunner Kiel is a popular name among LSU fans.

I remember a Bama visit kind of forced us out of our wait and see approach. But it was was auburn we were worried about for his signature

I don't think Saban wanted him, I wouldn't put it past him to force a rival school into showing their hand either, I don't know if that's what happened though

LSUs list of committed QBs that never played a snap in tiger stadium is very impressive

Commits
- Zach Lee (signed: left for MLB)
- Hayden Rettig (signed: miles like mobile QBs)
- Gunner Kiel (No chest)
- Felipe Franks ("won't be good now anyway")

Starters
-Jarret Lee (7 TDs in one yr.. to the other team)
-Jordan Jefferson (Jordan Jefferson)
-Mett (Great pickup)
-Anthony Jennings (wow)
-Brandon Harris (on day 900 of waiting for the light to turn on)

Urban also recruited Harris. He was a decent prospect.

We offered. None of us on the Alabama board wanted him though. We were quite happy when he decided to go to LSU.

You would have been recruited but I don't believe universities waste scholarships on male cheerleaders

I don't mean to be insulting, but are you serious? Do you even know the meaning of "great?"

OMG if LSU fans gave JJ one tenth the respect and patience they have shown with BH he would now be seen as one of the top LSU QBs of all time.

I'm sure BH is a good person. He MIGHT even be a decent athlete. It is even possible he could have a good game or two playing the American football. But please...can we try to limit the use of the word "great?"

Personally I think LSU fans as a whole are "grate." They are just not great at realistically judging football talent. If they were, you would not have had all those breathless, panting declarations about having eight 2017 FIRST ROUND draft picks on this team.

I wonder how many the more delusional of the fan base think they have now? I guarantee there are LSU fans that will still say five or six. And they are the same ones who will tell you BH will be a "great" QB this year.

If he was put into the Kiffin offense.. he'd do just fine. LSU just likes to run 2 man routes that force him to react to 8 DB/LBs.

Baylor offered Harris and Briles would've made him into a good QB. He might still do that. LSU has no clue what to do with offensive talent.
