I thought everyone knew he was at Kent State when "Four Dead in Ohio" song was written by CSN & Young.

Wasn't he used as a kicking tee since he is so low to the ground anyway?

Saban graduated from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, where he played defensive back for the football team. Saban and a roommate avoided being amidst the infamous Kent State shootings when they decided to eat lunch before walking to the rally area.[26]

The amount of high-profile coaches that come from WV or OH is unreal.

Yeah he played for a small school in West Virginia called Monongah (I think that's how you spell it). And then went on to play DB at Kent St.

Cool Story related to the above post. I was at my grandparents in West Virginia for Christmas and was downstairs with my Dad in their basement. He was checking out old newspaper clippings and I was looking at an old sports section page with a picture of Nick Saban on one side and my Dad on the other. Turns out my Dad was the star DE and OB for his team and Nick Saban the star QB and DB for his team. They played each other in the state championship game their senior years and Saban got Offensive MVP and my Dad defensive MVP. Said him and Saban were friends in high school through sports and Saban was an athletic but quiet and strange guy. Though it was kind of cool and I would share with the SEC Rant.

Also, my Dad got play of the week for knocking the crap out of Saban on a sack

Imagine how much college football history could have changed if they hadn't gotten lunch first.

only an Aubbie would wish/ponder such things. why? because Auburn would never have had to deal with Saban at LSU or Saban at Bama.

look man... just switch loyalties. it's only a fool's hope to believe that Chizik, Taylor, and Malzahn (who will be gone sooner than later) are gonna pull off a miracle season at Auburn.

(and although i didn't start the thread, i would like to state that yes... it's the off-season ;)

Give the guy the benefit of the doubt. He never said he wished they wouldn't have taken an early lunch. Maybe he's simply saying how different the college landscape would have looked, if not for one nonchalant decision. PJ has always seemed like a decent poster.
