I had a conversation with Larry porter back in 09 and asked why we weren't offering Lacy. It wasn't just grades, definitely character concerns and porter didn't even seem like he was keeping up with Lacy and this was just a few weeks before signing day. Honestly it was probably best for the guy to get out of BR and obviously he got his shite together so props to him.

Admitting to having sex with a 14 year old and probation wasnt a character concern for a current RB.

oral doesn't count BRAH .(kidding) Plus Larry Porter isn't here now.

And fwiw, those same allegations were made against Lacy as I referenced earlier.

A buddy told me this at work today and I looked at his Rivals page, sure enough it shows he didn't have an offer. Surprising considering he is from LA. What happened?

He didn't have his grades.

He suddenly had his grades.

I never heard of any allegations about Lacy while we recruited him at all. I have only seen Maximus and now you make them. Not saying it didnt happen, but it wasnt talked about in recruiting circles back then. Link?

It was a thing locally around here that many made allegations about. Never got much past that but it was a pretty wide spread rumor. Whether it was true

kids who are in the same school together though... shite happens. I couldn't really GAF either way if its true or not

What's so hard to figure here?

Are you sensitive about it, because you or your child has a disablility?

I was at Tuscaloosa last year when Ford led us in rushing yards against a team with Lacy. I honestly don't remember what Lacy did in the game. A few carries maybe.

Lacy was on the radar early. I heard a lot about him as an underclassman. Hilliard and Hill were coming behind his class, and he didn't have his academics in order.

It's not a difficult situation to get a grasp of.

Duke went to dutchtown with Lacy. He was fairly confident that he shouldn't have even been eligible to play in high school.

But as it often goes with top athletes... He had the grades he needed.

He didn't. This is just hearsay. I hate it when folks act like fraud and cheating don't happen. It does. Ole Miss taught Jerell Powe how to read so that he could play football for christsakes. The real scam is that NCAA wants us to believe that these top athletes are students. Some of them are dedicated students, but most of them aren't, and forcing someone to go to college to play a sport professionally is unfair. But I love college football, so it's a conundrum.

I wish that guys would have to at least attempt to earn some sort of real degree instead of these bogus programs they were doing. Get a guy who is on the team for 4-5 years, never makes it as a pro, and has a degree that's slightly more useful than a high school diploma

John Curtis Christian Academy got Eddie Lacy qualified for Bama. Magically took some classes there one summer and came out a genius ....
