Deshaun Watson vs. Cam Newton

Who was the better college QB?
Both were incredible.
Both won a championship.
Deshaun played for two championships.
Both were able to beat Alabama one time.
Cam won the Heisman.
Deshaun was a Heisman finalist twice.
I'm comparing these two since they are the ones to beat my beloved Crimson Tide. I guess you could put Johnny Manziel in the convo too, although I don't think he belongs since he didn't win a NC.

Newton. Watson wasn't that big a deal last night his receivers won that game. How many times did they go down into the turf to dig out a low throw? Or win a jump ball on a pass I could throw? Or make super catches on back shoulder throws?

I like Deshaun better. Better intangibles. But Cam was a freak player. Probably won't see anyone better than these two for a long time.

Yea. I think if Cam had 2-3 years then it wouldn't even be a discussion. I also agree with the other poster. Deshaun had more talent while Cam was a one man show.

Actually if you watched the games, Bama beat Watson last year and Cam won by 1. I wouldn't say they manhandled Bama but both were very special in their own rights. They both pretty much manhandled most every other team in the country. But not Bama. Bama doesn't get blown out.

It's Cam and frankly this subject just doesn't do any favors to Watson. Cam is a freakish generational athlete.
Watson had an amazing career, seems like a good kid and is extremely talented and hard working. We should give him his due without comparing him to someone like Cam Newton.

Cam had the single best season of any college player I've ever witnessed. AU was garbage without him. He won that MNC dam near by himself.
I'd rather play with DW. And DW gets the career achievement award. But Cam's season will likely never be repeated.

There was a ton of talent on that 2010 Auburn team. To say otherwise is just plain dumb. But Cam was a much better player.
