it cost him his mojo and he never recovered. The game was played later that year and Bama beat tamu handily I believe, but the fallout continued to fall for a long time. Be careful about how your AD handles adverse weather decisions.

Yeah, Alabama's QB was injured and couldn't play on the scheduled game date.

Curry refused to come to College Station.

Jackie Sherill was interviewed on TV on Kyle Field that sunny clear day in College Station when we were supposed to play and he was rightfully pissed.

So we got to play Alabama the week after playing our then arch rival and after Alabama's QB was playing again.

I also remember ESPN footage of Bama students on campus playing frisbee on a beautiful Saturday, no hurricane weather in sight. As a kid, I learned a lot about character that day.

The game was in College Station, not T-Town.

This was a bad decision, the game should have been played. It did hurt Curry because it was perceived as Bama using the situation to its advantage.

Curry was never going to last. The only thing he accomplished was going 3-0 vs 10rc, and a shared SEC Title in '89.

Bobby Bowden wanted the job when Perkins left for the NFL, but our moronic Pres. wanted Curry instead.

aTm wasn't going to win that game either, no matter when or where we played it. 30-10.

That's a crock. That was going to be an early season game and A&M was a talented team, that was right after we had won 3 straight SWC Championships. However as it turned out it was the last game fo Sherrill's tenure and the NCAA had turned up the pressure on A&M to get rid of him at that time (we were on probation that year as it was). The emotional state of our team was terrible knowing they were losing their coach.
