So we both get new, vaunted defensive coordinators who've coached extensively in the SEC. however, the dialogue was that Chavis had no talent to work with while Muschamp had a roster full of it, that just needed discipline and a good leader.

Only one seems to be earning their pay, and while not SEC tested, has still objectively made leaps and bounds from where the D was last season.

Now the rhetoric is that AU has no talent to work with.

So what happened to the talent gap between TAMU and AU that everyone was talking about?

How good would Aggies defense be without Myles Garret? Auburn's defense has been without their version of Myles Garret for the entire season except the first half of Louisville. And Louisville had zero points at halftime

Talent is about the same but Auburns offense is hurting the defense. If you swaped Auburn with A&M vs LSU last week I think the results are similar.

Obviously, Garrett is great, but the entire defense has improved. The only position that's been as suspect as previous years is corner. Sure, we'd drop off some without Garrett's contribution, but he's not a one-man show.

Couldn't disagree with you more, but we will get an answer on the field.

Bottom line is Aggies have more than one explosive pass rusher. And it is beginning to appear that Chavis was a better hire than Muschamp.

The defense looks impressive putting away Nevada this past weekend

Fournettte ran all over Aggies defense as a true freshman. I am guessing you will find out your defense hasn't improved as much as you think when the rematch takes place

And you learned all this after playing 2 cupcakes and a decent team in week 1? All essentially at home? It will be hard for them to not be better, but how much better we will see in time.

Auburn has several players hurt.

Chavis defenses are very reliable at third and 1. The offense rarely get a first down, will which will make many people celebrate.

Third and twenty-six, and his defenses are just as reliable to fail.

Auburn had what 3 returning starters on the team?

The defense was ranked 92 going into last week which probably didn't help them. Muschamp is a couple years away just like Chavis but A&M is a much better team.

With our interior d line and strong as it is and our linebackers fully healthy, I don't believe LF runs wild like he did on auburn. I could be wrong, but I just don't see how it's possible.

Is what you believe supposed to mean anything considering how fricking delusional most Aggie posters on this site are? There is no way you can know how your defense would do against Fournette since you haven't played any teams who are good at running the ball

Is Muschamp trying to institute a whole new defensive scheme? If so, it doesn't matter how talented the players are, it takes about a season and a half to make things work.

I watched A&M this week and didn't see much difference.

Maybe not like we did on auburn but let Myles Garrett know that buga is going to go in dry.

I think its clear now that A&M has 2-3 difference makers while Auburn has none (except for Lawson, who is usually hurt).
