A real dark horse candidate mind you. In the east the big 3 obviously have the best chance so the dark horse is either USC or Kentucky imo. Give me USC with a chance to win a weakened east.

In the west we appear to have possibly 3 very good teams so a dark horse making it to Atlanta is going to be next to impossible but give me Arkansas although it's tempting to pick State. Arkansas will be very tough should they remember how to play defense.

USC and Arkansas.

SC only because they get UK at home.
aTm although it's more of a longshot than a darkhorse.

In the East, I am going to go with South Carolina. After a decent first year, I think that their offense will improve as their young, talented quarterback gets settled into the offense, and the defense will improve because Will Muschamp has always had great defenses. I wouldn't pick them to win the East, but to me, they're the clear dark horse.

In the West, I'll go with Mississippi State because I really like Fitzgerald. I think Arkansas can also be that dark horse team out in the West, so we'll see.

I think this year ky is going to show if they deserve any hype.

No darkhorses this year. 2 of the big 6 will be in ATL this year.

UT, uf, or uga vs bama, lsu, or auburn

Tennessee in the East, LSU in the West

6 months ago I would have said Auburn but at this point they are the trendy non-Alabama pick

State and Scar.

Although that school in West Vance appears to have a pretty good ball club.

agree the Hogs could be a dark horse with Allen.

I like UK in the East. They need a break or two, but the rest of the teams in the East are so beatable that one must view them all as longshot/darkhorses.

If the Hogs O-Line manages to protect Allen even up to an average level the offense will be quite salty. Sounds like there was some serious improvement in a few bodies up front (Froholt especially) so we'll see.

Defense...well...it can't be worse. Literally.

Arkansas is likely to be a very tough out. We'll see.

East - South Carolina (I would've said UK, but I've said UK for the last 5 years now and it doesn't look like thats ever gonna happen)

West - Mississippi State. If they get any sort of defensive improvement this year, they will cause that division fits.

I don't see how the defense can't improve substantially. That was the worst MSU defense in memory, but it wasn't necessarily talent related. We had a DC without a pulse last year and replaced him with a pretty good one. Also added some quality JUCO talent on defense. Will be interesting.

State and UK. Would not surprise me at all to see UK in Atlanta this year.

I like Kentucky and hope they do it but seeing them make it to Atlanta in any year will be a surprise to all of us.

They sure looked tough late in the season. I am not sure who all they lost but unless I am mistaken, I thought most of their playmakers were returning. Regardless, it will be fun to see them shake things up in the east.

You missed the point of the exercise. I'll take State and Vandy. I think Kentucky hit their peak last year. If Muschamp couldn't win at Florida, he definitely can't win at SC.

You're gonna be eating those words.

As for my dark horse in each division..

South Carolina in the East and Mississippi State in the West.

USC could win the east.

I'll take MSU in the west.
