We will probably lose him to the NFL after this season. But it's nice to have his brother Anders Carlson committed he's a 5* according to the Kohls kicking camp ranking. KICKER University

He's retarded good. The fact that you just need 1 or 2 decent plays on a drive and you're guaranteed at least 3 points is a ridiculous advantage to have

It's nice when you are able to replace your offensive weapon with another one immediately. Congrats.

Only if his family needs the money. That's not a position where you worry about getting hurt. His stock probably won't rise or drop if he comes back. He can have two Lou Groza Awards on the mantle if he does come back though.

Think he gets drafted high?

I don't think a kicker has gone 1st rd since Sebastian Janikowski around the late 90s. And even though he was incredibly good, the Raiders got widely criticized and mocked for that. Mid-late 2nd round is probably his best case scenario

I think I remember reading that he was also a scholar. Very high GPA?

I predict he will kick a 60 or + before he leaves...

He cleared the 51 yarder by good margin

He won't declare for the draft. He can come back, get the all time SEC scoring record, then be one of the highest kickers taken in the draft ever. He has only missed 10 his entire career, and 6 of those were as a freshman with 5 being beyond 40 yards.

The most telling stat is 7/8 on his career at 50+ yards, his sole miss came last year on a 55 yard attempt . He also has a 42 yard punting average over 41 punts.. Not too shabby.

How is it possible that the best offensive weapon Gus has is a kicker? I thought Gus was an offensive genius

I also think his touchback ratio is at or above 80% ?

I told my wife last night I wish Nick would call up whoever AU's kicking coach is and ask the question "I need to know how many zeros to put on this check and where to send the Uhaul.

Auburn ALWAYS has great kickers.

I think what may hurt bama...saban doesn't give out scholarships to kickers. He may have changed that rule though.

Well that is his offensive genius at work. Making sure his team repeatedly uses their best offensive weapon.

It's above 80% now I do believe. He has also never missed an extra point on over 100 attempts.

I thought all of his kickers and punters were walk-ons and he used those scholarships for position players.

ETA Same goes for long snappers. bama fans sure gave us hell about giving scholarships to those players.
