You mean his entire professional career is just gravy?

Never said anything about him as a collegian. Very good college QB, just don't think it translates to the NFL.

One thing is for sure, he will always be a better college qb than Eli.

One season doesn't make you statistically one of the top 5 SEC QB's of all time. It means you had a great season.

Without looking, I know for a fact that Dak is in the top 5 all time for yards and TDs by a QB in the SEC. North of 9000 pass yards and north of 2500 rush yards with 110+ TDs.

Just looked it up, 3rd all time in total yards by an SEC player (11897) and 4th all time in total TDs by an SEC player (111).

As a Cowboys fan, this feels like a wasted pick. Wish we went defense.

No, drafting Ezekiel Elliott 4th overall was a wasted pick. With the Cowboys line, any half decent RB would have ran for 1000 yards.

Zeke is better than decent.

Dude is going to beast.

People keep looking at DMac's stats last year and think he was good but he almost never got the yards the Cows truly needed.e has no break away ability. You also cant trust him to be healthy for another full year. No way, no how.

Man this hurts. I'm a cowboy-hater, but it does look like a good fit for Dak.

In theory, he can has time to learn.
In reality, any game my be Romo's last.

I thought the coywboys were going to get him in the top of the 2nd or top of the 3rd. Good for them they were able to wait while building other depth as well.

What about Romo's replacement? He isn't going to last much longer it seems.

It's funny, three 150 lb. kids did a better job at taking down Dak in 10 minutes than the entire Akry D in three years.

Dak Prescott was a really good QB in college. I don't think he's cut out to be the Cowboys starter. He'll play if Romo gets hurt over the next couple seasons, but he's not a long term solution, IMO. I'd love to be wrong, but 4th round QBs rarely do anything noteworthy. If you're not grading as a first round talent as a QB, you have significant limitations.

Which is why I said any half decent guy will run well behind that line. To draft a RB 4th overall when major help was needed elsewhere, and available at that spot, seems ridiculous.

You do realize broken glass McFadden with only 10 starts (16 games played), had nearly 1100 yards and 4.6 ypc right? A guy who has gone over 707 yards rushing once in his injury riddled career prior to Dallas, posted nearly 1100 with a great rush average. He also had over 300 receiving yards with 40 catches. He did all this with an arse-tastic passing game. 1400 yards from scrimmage in 10 starts from Darren f**king McFadden???

They don't need a top level RB. The funny thing is, they picked up Alfred Morris over the offseason.

Human lizard Jerry Jones loves dual threat QBs. Hate the Cowboys, but this just may work.

It's kind of hard to say someone is top 5 because of a bunch of stats. The game has changed a lot in the last decade or so.

Drafting a running back with the 4th overall pick is almost always a wasted pick. Even if they're good.

Know there are lots of people much smarter than me to evelaute these guys, but Dak to me was one of the most athletic qbs to watch and other than the one incident seems to be a GREAT guy. Even when he beat our arse in 2014 felt like was watching just. A great talent. Hope he does well and real am rooting for him.

Really... You think maybe someone is willing to take a tough durable guy that is in the Cam Newton model and try to sharpen his passing skillset which is not bad BTW.

I don't like the pick. The Cowboys should have went with someone more ready to play this year in case Romo goes down. Dak is a project that may never be good enough to start.

General trends aren't disproved by exceptions. Tony Romo wasn't even drafted, and I fricking love him. In the past, present, and future there will be other guys drafted late or not at all the majority of good NFL were drafted in the first two rounds for a reason. Hell. 3 out of the final 4 QBs last season were number one overall picks.
