It's the job of the defense to stop the offense! What's the problem?

I remember Texas/ Arkansas game in Petrinos first year and Ole Mack throwing passes in the 4th qtr up by 45.

Last year we caught Texas in a bowl game and we took a knee... I hollering score damn it! I have NO class!

i dont mind that they ran it in

i did think it was lame Duke was still throwing passes earlier in the drive though.

This.

Unless the game is close and you're worried about losing the ball, handing the ball off to the RB, preferably a back up, is today's version of taking a knee.

If the defense can't stop a predictable series of runs, they deserve to be scored on.

Going on one knee is what somebody does when they're about to perform fellatio.

I try to shy away.

Teams have a finite amount of game time to help prepare for other teams. A team like Duke could probably use the extra practice and confidence of winning a game big.

If he called a running play, it's not running up the score.

If he was calling passing plays, or going hurry up, or calling timeouts, that's a different story.

Arky fans obviously don't know the history of their own lard arse coach. Bert ran the score up at Wisconsin every chance he got

Duke's last two scores were a 95 yard kickoff return and a drive headed up by his second string qb on an 11 play drive that ate up 5 minutes. That drive had 3 passes and 8 runs.

Getting your back-ups real game experience is not pointless.

ETA...it wasn't like it was the last possession of the game...Tulane had a 3 and out after Duke scored.

He needs to take lessons from Petrino.

Barely a minute left in the game and up 30-7, Duke punches it in from the 1 for another TD.

Being that Cutcliffe was in the SEC for a long time and we typically don't try to embarass overmatched opponents late in games that are out of reach like that. Taking tMercyKnee gives a good a coach a solid chub.

Is it a small dick syndrome kind of thing to score a pointless touchdown, the spread was already covered easily.

I guess he is trying to instill the Duke bball attitude in the football team.

Meh, still kinda mad we didn't punch it in against Clemson and Arkansas last year... I say punch it in, who cares... If it makes you feel better then do it.

If you don't want their second string offense to score on you, then stop them.

Like when Bert scored 73 on Nichols state?

No one outside of Ark watched that game. Our last drive took 12 plays over 6 minutes and featured one pass.

Could have easily hung 100.

Well, they do have more SEC titles than half the current members, and have winning o/a records vs Vandy, So. Carolina and Auburn.
