Alabama has been to 11 consecutive bowls. They are 6-5 in those bowls. That's three SEC titles and three BCS titles in that time frame.
They lead the nation in bowl appearances with a 35-24-3 record all-time.

To put it into perspective, here are the list of teams that are in a consecutive bowls played and won streak 4 or more straight games/years:
Michigan State (4)
Louisiana-Lafayette (4)
South Carolina (4)
Texas A&M (4)

It it weren't for a couple of Chavis late-game defensive implosions LSU would have won the last two in the series at home. Speaking of the LSU-Alabama series, the schools have played more than 75 times and Alabama has never scored 59 points against LSU much less registered a shutout win by that many points. Holy shite that was an arse-whipping Bama put on A&M last year.

Making a high tier 1 bowl (win or lose) is far superior than making and winning the Bounty Paper Towel Bowl and finishing 7-6.
