team and why.

Usually at most, a team might appear 3 times.

Criteria is games that will have a mark in the landscape in college football. Is the game a must win for the coach to keep his job? Is a game a coming out party? Will a game decide a division? Is there a fascinating dynamic to the game? That's what I'm looking for over other factors.

How could anyone possibly know these things right now?

In a legitimately true top 100 games to watch in 2016 list, there will be several teams from the SEC that will appear more than 3 times.

For UT, Va Tech and every game from 9/24 to 10/15 (UF, @UGA, @A&M, Bammer) is a worthy candidate.

UMass. Because it's close to Maine.

Exclude our OOC teams other than USCw. Exclude AU. There's 8 of your top 100 right there.

You can project.

Right off the bat, as I look at the AAC games week 1, I know I'm going to have Oklahoma Vs Houston. Houston coming off a victory over Fla St and hoping to make a statement against an Oklahoma team that certainly has expectations. That's a game that could have huge implications for both programs.

Stuff like that.

To see where Mark Richt is at
Texas ND
To see where Texas is at
USC Alabama
If any team can blow out Bama it is USC but their confidence is not there

By my criteria, VT vs Tennesse wouldn't make it at all most likely (100 games is actually a lot). It doesn't really do anything. VT had a bad year last year and will be rebuilding under a new coach this year. The game doesn't mean anything to Tennessee really. They either go bowling by making it to the SEC CG or not and that's through match ups in the SEC East.

Justin Fuente might have Va Tech there to play football

Maybe. And that's the only way they get on the list is if I end up deciding that it could be a coming out party but without doing the research, I'm seeing the games as ancillary to the seasons of both teams for different reasons. But hey, my mind could easily change and that's why I started this thread.

You specifically mentioned this, and I would call a game at a racetrack with the largest crowd in CFB history a fascinating dynamic. Maybe the national significance is debatable, but purely from an intrigue factor I see no way this game wouldn't make a top 100. I guess criteria is subjective though.

Out of all football games Washington Oregon may be the most interesting
Everyone is high on Washington and they have a long losing streak to their supposed PNW little brother
Out of all games out West it may be the most interesting IMO

Not really. If your Alabama and you're better than everyone else, you might have 1 or 2 legit games that could threaten their season but otherwise, they'll be BAU for 10 games that are therefore unworthy of including.

A lot of SEC fans do not appreciate football outside of the conference
Passion and heart is not synonymous with SEC alone

You make a good case and again, it might be in there, but honestly I'm expecting y'all to fieldstomp then. Starting a new QB and only 5 returning starters on Defense for VT just makes me think it won't be a game to be remembered. Those games in Yankee stadium are awesome but does anyone ever remember anything about them? I don't.

Oklahoma vs tOSU has to be the biggest game of the year. LSU vs Bama, Bama vs USC. Those are the big ones that come to mind

I don't think we'll stomp them but it'll be a pretty nondescript, 14-21 point win type of game imo. For reference, there are around 700 games this year featuring an FBS team. Hard to say for certain if the game itself would be in the top 100, but the appeal is there at least.

Everyone in 10RC should be worried about stopping your losing streaks to your supposed rivals UF and Bama.
Not some exhibition game against a lesser opponent at a race track
