Removing gender from the equation, would you rather have:
A) A group of individuals leading the entire stadium in chants and yells that are 100% in unison
or
B) A group of individuals waving little signs and one that is dressed in a furry suit?
I have seen Cheer and Yell leaders at D1 venues and while both have their benefits, I don't exactly see the downside of having them on the sideline. It is brought up an awful lot on this site though, so who is really paying them the extra attention?
