The series has been pretty even in the last 20 years, I think we may actually hold a 1 game lead so stop acting like y'all have completely dominated us in recent history

No matter how you try to qualify it the all time record is still 61-42-6.

I think Larry Fedora is a better coach and would go to MSU in a heartbeat

Fedora would have to be crazy to leave UNC.

(On a side note, he turned down Ole Miss last year citing the circus surrounding the lame duck AD, and rightfully so. Worked out well for everybody)

Can't decide whether or not State could do better than Merlinz. It's a risky move for a young up-and-comer who could hold out for an easier gig. And yes, the same thing can be said about the OM job before any State fans get upset.

Well accomplished? Mullen hasn't done anything spectacular. He beats the teams he should but never really competes against better teams. He is recruiting better than we have in the past, but not good enough to keep with the upper half of the SEC and is getting his butt kicked by Freeze recently.

Hudspeth is a better fit for State, he is a MS guy that would likely stick around for a long time, I think he is a better coach and is more personable to players. ULL was an awful program and he has taken them to back to back bowl games, and just pulled the best recruiting class in their conference, and top 5 out of the mid major schools. It is a safe bet that Hud>>>Mullen

judging by the effort and discipline of the team he is a better coach fundamentally. Our guys play hard and have improved over the season. He was dealt a shitty hand, in no way can you say whether is worse or better than Stansbury until he has a few years to get his players and some talent in the system.

No. Mullllen and State are perfect for each other. You shouldn't change a thing.

Chizik, Petrino, and brown will all be looking for new jobs next year

That's two NC winners and a former NFL coach. Plus with the women down in starkville you could probably keep petrino in check as i'm sure harleys have weight limits.

According to the NCAA it's 61-42-6 unless State left to form its own league my point stands

Mullen is doing an outstanding job at State and doing it better than any previous coach in modern times.

Jackie in all his glory of 13 years- beat one good Bama team in 1996, Florida in 2000, and 2 good wins vs Auburn in 97 and 2000

So, even Jackie took until his 6th season to beat a top 15 level team

Why not? Ole Miss did it. I think they can. Mullen isn't that great, especially when it comes to in game situations. His mistakes come too often.

He's given ULL the best two years in their history. He committed CJ and Brassell to MSU. We were inside the top 20 in recruiting in 2011 when he left -- finished 44th. Obviously, he played a major role in those and many other of our recruitments.

His career as a HC:
2002 North Alabama 4–7 3–6 T–8th
2003 North Alabama 13–1 9–0 1st L NCAA Division II Semifinal
2004 North Alabama 5–5 4–5 T–6th
2005 North Alabama 11–3 7–2 T–2nd L NCAA Division II Semifinal
2006 North Alabama 11–1 8–0 1st L NCAA Division II Quarterfinal
2007 North Alabama 10–2 7–1 T–2nd L NCAA Division II Quarterfinal
2008 North Alabama 12–2 7–1 2nd L NCAA Division II Semifinal
North Alabama: 66–21 45–15
Louisiana–Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns (Sun Belt Conference) (2011–present)
2011 Louisiana–Lafayette 9–4 6–2 3rd W New Orleans
2012 Louisiana–Lafayette 9–4 6–2 T–2nd W New Orleans
Louisiana–Lafayette: 18–8 12–4
Total: 84–29

Hud could sell a true love for MSU(largely the same thing Freeze is selling at OM)...and he would be a lights-out recruiter at MSU. Doubting that just shows that you don't have a clue about him, his connections in MS, how he's thought of in local coaching circles, etc. Ask Godfrey about Hud when you have a chance and see what he tells you(he's covered him pretty closely at ULL). Hud would recruit more like Jackie than Croom and Mullen. TIFWIW...

I've been worried that he gets/takes a bigger job and is out of the picture for MSU, but I've been reassured by a few people that are close to him that it would REALLY take a special situation for him not come back to MSU regardless...
