Bradley Jr. has always been a fast healer and returned a lot sooner than doctors expect.

"I'm ready to get back out there and do what I can to help contribute to the team in the postseason," he said. "This team is amazing. As you can see, all the adversity we've been going through, mainly outfielders, they still continue to win. Shows the fight and the desire that this team has to make it back to postseason."

from an Interview with JBJ after his surgery.

I would say its a 25% chance at best that he can bat again. These injuries take about 6-8 weeks to heal, so that would put us in the Super Regional if he heals fast.

That being said, I could definitely see him inserted into the game as a pinch runner or defensive replacement in the 9th inning.

yeah i know but i would be fine with him coming back then.

he also said that he may (who knows) be back next year. he needs to talk it over with his family.

Baseball America has him rated as the #13 college prospect. Tough to turn down that sort of money.

true

but he doesn't want to end his college career like this. And idk how likely it is that he will come back, but he said its not out of the question right now

I'd say there is a slight chance he comes back, like less than 20%.

He'll make appearances on the diamond and as a pinch runner, but we won't see him at the plate for the rest of the year, IMO. Even IF he can bat by the CWS, I don't see him being in a good enough "groove" to be as effective with his bat.

They say it won't affect his draft status, but I don't see it not affecting it just a LITTLE.

its got to hurt it some, he has been injured every year he has been at Carolina. luckily he has healed quick and come back well before the doctors said he would.

we can only hope.

from GCC
"There's a lot of options I can weigh when that time comes and when that time comes, me and my family will evaluate it and depending on what may happen, you never know," he said. "I could be back here, in Columbia. Home."

His .273 batting average will effect his draft status more than the wrist injury. The new bats were supposed to seperate the great hitters from the average hitters, and although it was probably just a slump, some teams will shy away due to the lack of productivity.

If you get drafted in the top 5 or 6 rounds, chances are you will go. The signing bonuses are usually too high to turn down. Could you imagine turning down a million dollars at 21? Think about it.

the signing bonuses after the second round drop a lot. thats why Neff is at Carolina instead of pros. he dropped to the 3rd round and they only offered him like 600,000. but yes that is still a lot.

I am pretty sure Neff was drafted in the 26th round. 3rd day of the draft.
