Could Hurricane Harvey threaten LSU's opening week?

No jokes over last year's fiasco. From the models it looks like it is possible. Really shitty for the fans and people of Louisiana for other reasons if so.
Is it a concern yet for the LSU program/fan base?

LSU should just schedule 11 regular season games from now on because it seems like one always gets cancelled

Lots of people think it's going to bounce and hug the coast for maybe the next 5 days. That would be bad, and losing some football games would be pretty trivial, really.

I posted the same thing as you at the same time.
LSU should move the game to Provo. /thread

I think it's all but certain to affect the game.
But being "really shitty for the fans" is secondary if the stadium and hotels are needed for emergency purposes.
If there's any fan base that will be sympathetic to such a scenario, it's LSU.

Contingency plans will be used. Flooding is going to happen. This is one of those decade type storms.

That stationary front is making this a real natural disaster.

Hate to break it to you or to stir the pot but a lot of LSU fan's were not too sympathetic with a hurricane that hit the Caribbean/ Florida last year.
It is very hard to tell right now what the conditions will be here in Houston come Wednesday/Thursday. This could turn out very similar to the Fla/LSU fiasco. I hope not.

LSU fans were sympathetic then too. Jeremy foley and coach Mac are complete morons. It's called a contingency plan. Something LSU has always had. And used a lot. We used one for Katrina. That killed thousands of people. The SEC made us play. Our players had family they couldn't contact. Many of them were dead. Your AD and coach acted like jackasses. Pretending the storm wasn't coming. Go whine somewhere else.

The difference was that Josh was asking a legitimate question, and you're just trying to be an a-hole.

Aggie is playing in CA. LSU/BYU should be played in College Station.

Well, except that the stadium we're playing in this year is going to see 2+ feet of water. It was sunny in Gainesville last year on the day the game was supposed to be played.

Three years straight we could lose a game
I don't think we will but it's frustrating to not have alternative plans for all games

They should schedule one extra
