Last week he had dropped out of the top 5. Now he jumps all the way up to #3. Still a long shot to win it but he will get his invite to NYC.

Marcus Mariota 49 pts
Melvin Gordon 41 pts
Amari Cooper 28 pts

Just an estimate, but usually pretty accurate.

He won't get any higher than 3rd, but I'm glad he's getting the free trip to NY. He's earned it.

I think Melvin Gordon would look mediocre against real defenses.

I wonder what the odds are? I'd guess around 45-50:1 at this point but he still has a small chance. A poor showing by Gordon and another Arizona victory over oregon combined with an iron bowl like performance against Mizzou and Cooper could feasibly steal it in the final week.

Cooper is #1 IMO.
Alabama would not have beaten LSU without him. He is their offense.

Its a fairly weak field this year. His number normally wouldn't be good enough, but I think that's accurate for this year.

What he is doing in the SEC West is much harder than what the other two are doing imho.

Oddly enough, I think Auburn has the best tandem of W.R.s in Coats and Duke that I have seen in awhile.

Both of those guys should be top 15 picks.

Like all three of those guys. Cooper still has a shot at the SEC receiving record tho. Needs 452 yards. It would be tough but doable.

The only thing that mildly interests me about the Heisman race is whether some non-QBs/RBs manage to make the last five.

In 2012, Marquis Lee (WR, USC) finished 4th in the Heisman voting.

13 games, 118 receptions, 1721 yds, 14.6 avg, 14 TDs
8 100+ yard games
1 300+ yard game (two other games of 197 & 192 yds)

Amari Cooper :
12 games, 103 receptions, 1573 yds, 15.3 avg, 14 TDs
7 100+ yard games
3 200+ yard games

UAB spending Bama money by going in the hole.

UAB should have chosen the Sun Belt ( or whatever its called now ) instead of Conference USA where its so spread out, thus costing the university in travel in all sports.

They were probably warned.

In the sunbelt most of the teams are bus rides away.

He is averaging like 8 YPC on WELL over 200 carries. That is legendary. He'd gash the SEC too.

Look real good against LSU. Then again, LSU's defense earlier in the season wasn't that good.

No, they shouldn't. They should both get horrible draft grades so they have to come back one more year and improve their stock.

I respectfully disagree. He ran up and down LSU in the first half, something we couldn't do the entire game.

yeah, and if he had not dropped half the passes thrown his way that game he would probably have had a career day. Even so, he got 88 yards and a TD. Never seen him drop so many that where right in his hands before or since

Take off the Crimson Colored Glasses. Only 3 guys (2 pro football hall of famers) have ever rushed for more yards than what Gordon has right now. Just during Cooper's 3 seasons at Alabama (2012-preset) 7 wide receivers have had seasons of at least 1,500 yards. That's not to take away from what Cooper has done. But the numbers he's posted this year aren't rare.
